    Including loans we've lost 15.

Including loans Sunderland have lost 13. Not really a huge difference.

This is something I regularly disagree with people on here about.

I notice he hardly ever competes for a ball in the air. He goes out of his way to not be where the ball is going if it means competing with a defender. He also gets visibly fed up and stops concentrating because the rest of the team don't lay it on a plate for him. There was actually a goal Diomande scored a couple of season ago where the press pictures of the goal showed Abel in the background still bemoaning a crap pass while Dio was capitalising on a keeper error thanks to being way more alert.

Abel's finishing is better than many top half PL strikers, and he's good at making space for a shot which not all strikers are, but there's a reason he doesn't attract the attention of bigger clubs than us and it's all in his mindset.

They're five players down on last season, we're ten players down on last season, in a squad of 25, that's a massive difference.

I was drawing a comparison of two clubs who have been relegated, lost a chunk of their squad, and signed free/cheap players to replace them. The fact they've made a handful of extra signings with a couple less losses doesn't change the fact the two strategies are the same.

If Bruce is after him then that must be an endorsement to Abels attitude? Bruce wouldn't want him if he was a problem?

True, but Xia has already rubbished the rumour.

I still much rather be us tan them. At least all our lads care (minus Grosicki), that's Gibson fiasco was laughable

We've also signed decent players, not just Everton cast offs.

I was just about to say that, their signings have been largely uninspiring.

I've no idea what those two Everton kids are like, but I'd have been very happy with us signing McGeady and Grabban, or even Vaughan.

I'm not sure why his opinion is baffling you so much?

I think McGeady and Grabban are good signings with Vaughan a bit more of a gamble.

They're just the same old **** really. Grabban had one good year at Bournemouth but has done little since. Vaughan's just a journeyman.

List of important things to me.

    A) I get to follow Hull City again.
    B) The Allams sell and leave.
    C) The Stadium is not half empty.
D ) We score some goals and win some games. Especially away from home.

Of course I want us to finish as high as possible and buy or loan some decent players but what will be will be

Being **** has never stopped us going in the past

    :)

    Prediction

    Bottom six

We had ambitions until Bruce's relegation. Since then we either kept the squad or sold, one big buy with Mason may have been with the help of some of the Chinese money. Grosicki was to keep Silva happy but looks a waste of money at this point.

You need to get your head out of the sand.

We've signed a striker who was once decent and who can hopefully still do a job, if he can be arsed. BCC stated Campbell had only trained 3 times prior to joining us after the season ended. That's a bit worrying.

An untested: inexperienced right back who'll probably play left back.

2 centre halves who have hardly set the world alight , one of which has never played in England, but look steady enough( ish) and an inexperienced mid fielder who gets mixed reviews.

And then you look at who we've let go.

It's a cluster **** of epic proportions and anyone saying different is either very easily pleased or incredibly naive.

    Maybe both.

No left back and a Steve McDonald wannabe who couldn't give less of a ****. I also think Bowen isn't up to it, neither is Dio.

    Apart from that we're good.

Untested? Aina made a number of appearances for Chelsea last season.

Hector is a very good signing, and has just had a great season in Germany. Just because you've never heard of him doesn't make him crap.

Bowen has looked great in pre-season. If we'd just signed him for 4m from Liverpool and Stewart was a youngster in our Academy, we'd be raving about Bowen.

I also never said we have had an amazing Summer, just that we've done better than Sunderland.

Didn't Aina play something like 27 minutes last season?

I agree about Hector and Bowen though, the could do a good job this season.
