http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14562442.stm Ranna, here's the link Btw, I'm sure it was Pique that made him wear the shirt!
I've seen it. That's really annoying because I would have had confidence in that midfield. It was definitely Reina.
While I agree Barton should be banned, he won't, and I can 100% guarantee it. Here's why: the rule is, if the referee saw the incident and reacted (i.e. Yellow card Barton) the fa can not overrule the ref. For example, last season, Nigel de Jong tackled Ben arfa, but then brought his back leg in and broke arfa's leg. The ref saw the original tackle and gave a yellow card. The fa could do nothing as he already received a yellow card. Also, I do rate Szczesny, though not as highly as reina, obviously.
Hello Mr Baron That's 'cos the rules are too stoooopid and the rule makers were stupid enough to put a stupid ref in charge of the game in the first place. Graham Poll called it right on Walton. Really? Can't imagine why.... Kind regards
Yeah, I think the rule is crap. Still remember the us Netherlands friendly right before the world cup, where de Jong (horrible tackler, dirty player) broke Stuart Holden's ankle, and nothing was done, neither during or post-match. But Barton should've gotten a straight red for that. The ref had a howler for you, and can only hope he sticks to fourh official the rest of the season. I was rooting for Newcastle (obvious reasons, plus my dad is a Newcastle supporter; still love watching arsenal play and would love both our teams top four...) but after that I sort of hoped for you to win. Just cause I hate watching a team get so obviously screwed. Cheers, btw!
I'm going to put my prediction in now... 2-1 Liverpool. With Arsenal's injuries and loss of key players (Fabregas and maybe Nasri), I feel we can take advantage. Van Persie for Arsenal and a Carroll double for Liverpool.
Now this one is funny, whereas i think the guy who rated Sczezny equivalent to Reina genuinely believes it! Arsenal are such a well run club with very reasonable fans, and perhaps i find it so because you guys often get tarred with the same brush as us. However you haven't strengthened this summer whereas we have and even then your squad has been further damaged by injuries and suspensions. For those Arsenal fans who didn't watch our game against Sunderland, we were very threatening first half, but very tired second half, and i'd have thought your midweek fixture combined with our extra time to get fit would put us at least on an even footing there now. Our advantages: -Enrique takes out Walcott's pace unless you put him in the middle -This season we have the best header of the ball in the league (Carroll) and one of the best set piece takers (Adam), and if i could pick the best tactic in the league to damage you it would be that -We don't have suspensions and injuries whereas you are missing the heart of your team. We haven't had a better chance to win away at Arsenal in years.
Or perhaps that Rafa may return in some caretaker role please log in to view this image I always liked Rafa. He was good for us
Thanks Friend Appreciate the shoulder. Barton getting away with just a yellow sends out a very bad message in that you can do whatever you like as long as you don't get caught. Bad judgement on the part of the FA and the ref.
I really can't see us losing this one. I think we wil have too much for them in midfield and upfront. Someone mentioned about cutting out our creative players... but we are bound to have a few free kicks and corners and I think that's where we will cause a lot of problems. Carroll, Agger and even Kuyt are all very good in the air and with Downing & Adam's delivery we should be a real danger.
It'll be a tough game, but I predict 25-0 to Liverpool. Poulsen to score 20, Degen a hattrick, El Zhar a brace.
1-0 Arsenal, Haven't picked a scorer yet, but you'll dominate us, but fail to convert chances, and we'll get a cheeky late winner.
