I didn't think he would let him go, he is very useful sometimes.

    Transfer speculation all round

Fellaini is appreciated by Mourinho. He would probably sell Pogba rather than Fellaini <laugh> <ok>

Fellaini Matic is an awesome dynamic CM pairing. Midfield parked for another season

I'm seriously hoping that will see Valencia restored to the right wing rather than the bench.

I'm not sure I believe this transfer one bit the bloke seems like a complete nut bar and will inevitably land himself in more trouble, do we need that?

Just doesn't scream 'Mourinho player' at me.

I think our final target will be Perisic and if we can't do that then we're probably done.

Watford asking for Fosu-Mensah on loan... I could think of better clubs to send him to if we're going to loan him out.

I'd probably prefer Southampton or WBA if possible.

I'd rather he went to the championship than the premier league myself.

Correct me if im wrong but when we loan our players to other premier league clubs they very rarely come back and end up in the first team.

I feel he'd be lost to us, would rather he stay to be absolutely honest.

I dunno, Welbeck to Sunderland worked out pretty well. Cleverley also perhaps (before his injury in 2011).

They are possibly the exception, although that said I can't think of many players who went out on loan to the Championship in recent years and still ended up in the first team.

    Beckham did alright!

I don't think it works full stop, not having many successes when loaned to the championship just emphasises that.
Going out on loan is a graveyard, I'd rather he stays in the squad.

I don't think it's a league issue I think it's a team issue. Some managers and coaches will be able to get the best out of Fosu-Mensah and others will be a tragedy for him.

Reading would probably be a cracking option with that in mind, although like Chief says I'd prefer him to stay here and make his move on the first team.

Didn't he go to Preston back when they were languishing down in the old Div 3? It was pre Moyes, so they were definitely nowhere near the Championship (or old Div 1) at the time. Although thinking about it a few spells in the Championship worked for Lingard so that's a decent example.

As for loans in general, I think it depends on the player. Some like Lingard, Welbeck and Jonny Evans will go out on loan two or three seasons in a row and use that to break into the first team. Others will go on loan and that'll be the end of them.

Like I was saying about James Wilson on another thread, a lot is probably down to the attitude of the player. Some players will go on loan and try their best to improve and develop. Others will go on loan and think "**** it, I'm better than this" and their career will fall off as a result. Although by the same note some players do the same even when they don't go on loan, so I'm not sure it's the loan process itself that is the problem.

Tuanzebe is the one I'd be pushing out the door on loan, as he doesn't look as close to the first team as Fosu-Mensah does imo. James Wilson can do one as far as I'm concerned, the lad enjoyed a few good games then went to ****, nothing abnormal about that we've seen it a hundred times here.

Didn't Tuanzebe look more impressive than Fosu-Mensah on the tour this year? Seemed F-M was struggling a bit at times, might benefit more from a change.

Also F-M's had a couple of seasons with a fair few first team games now, so might be in a better position to go on loan and make it work. Tuanzebe has only had a handful of appearances so might still play with the reserves this season with a few first team games. Keep him at the club until the coaches are sure he is ready.

As for Wilson, Warren Joyce said it all:

    http://therepublikofmancunia.com/jo...son-failed-because-they-stopped-working-hard/

If he gets his **** together and starts working again then great. If not, bye bye, give our regards to Januzaj on the way down.

I'm just going off what I've seen of Fosu-Mensah, predominantly under Van Gaal. I think LVG knocked him for six taking him off in that cup semi after giving away a penalty that was soft at best. Since then he's probably looking at 22 year old Bailly and 23 year old Lindelof coming in and thinking it's an even bigger challenge for him now.

Both him and Tuanzebe need to be given a position imo, instead of being rotated. TFM is used at centre half, right back and DM and Axel is used at RB and CM, it'll probably benefit the pair of them if they're focused on a role so they can set their sights on dislodging which ever senior member(s) are keeping them out of the team.

There's too many of them kids coming through who don't bother once they've had a few games and been given a little pay rise, that's why Jose loves Rashford so much because he's never taken his eye of the ball, he isn't happy to just make it, he clearly wants to go all the way to the top.
