Enjoyed the old Goodwood Cup, must say. So had a bit on A Momentofmadness in the mad dash at 16:45. Bottom weight could run well in this also? Love these wild sprints.

Just seen Gary Moore won the maiden 100/1 I admit I had a look and laughed. The jokes on me. Then the 4.45 33/1. Maybe angels quest might have a chance after all.

Rich would be the adjective I would choose. That must be a monster payout - just the treble on the 3 winners pays about 3500-1 <yikes>

    <cheers> Ste

I was just about to post about the first signs of a power-shift in the Irish NH scene, Joseph is banging in the winners for fun and has some very smart looking novices. Is it just summer jumps ****e or is Willie's throne under threat?

Don't know how much she wagered, but even a 10p ew L31 she is probably looking around £8-900.

Nipped up to bookies on my lunch break today and my mate had written down all of Atzeni's horses, said he thought he'd have a good day so was gonna just put a little ew lucky 63 on. Got to Corals he was checking prices on the screen saw that Breton Rock was 66/1 (no chance too big) and Expert Eye was 2/1 (too short no value not worth it). So he went through cards dropped them and also wrote down El Astranoute 33/1 to put in his bet instead of Atletico. Changed his mind again price too big and wrote out an ew lucky 31 instead with different horses. At one point he was holding two bet slips one worth £3500 and one worth £21000. The one he put on after changing his mind several times landed him with £25! He's just text me and said he's never felt so gutted in his life

Willie cares as much about the summer jumping as this forum does about flat racing I think.

"Librisia Breeze would have won with a clear run" <laugh> haven't laughed as hard in a fair while over racing. Give me a break lads, goes past animals out on their feet near the end every race at that level without ever getting near or looking a threat. It looks eye catching but it's just the mind playing tricks. His form is that of a useful handicapper and that is where you must wait to back him to be given a chance to recoup or else you'll be left feeling "hard done by" time and time again at this level. The cliff is steep, it's often windy and if you're not careful you will get blown off and never come back!

The 2yo Expert Eye took just 0.35 secs longer than Bretton Rock to cover the 7f and was carrying just 2lb less. This was comparing a Grade 2 2yo race against a Grade 2 all age race. Expert Eye was an impressive 4l winner whereas Bretton Rock won in a blanket finish. It will be interesting to see the sectionals but I think it's pretty safe to say that Expert Eye is more than useful. Not sure what to make of the pedigree in terms of the 2000 Gns. At a quick glance it almost looks like he was bred for 7f, possibly 8f. Stoute says he will definitely stay a mile. Well of course he will stay a mile. It's a question of can he win a G1 at a mile? I'll look forward to Bustino's view on that. I wouldn't touch him for the Derby

The Great Wall gone from 20's into 3/1 in minutes at Galway here now! Michael O'Callaghan must have seen this lad catch a pigeon this morning.

I really fancied Maysonette for this maiden and he's becoming a nice price now so I've backed him at 13/2 for Joespeh Murphy. Good 4th on debut behind Pavlenko and will hopefully have learned from it.

What*s going on at Galway? Halfway through Tuesday's card and Dermot Weld still to have a winner? I think Epsoir D'Soleil might get him off the mark here

Are we going to see an unprecedented event occurring with no Weld winner during the week.

Mick O'Callaghan can't keep a straight face being interviewed about this The Great Wall. He said he should win a maiden and couldn't stop smirking. I think "he knows"

2nd behind Maysonette will do me <ok> Saying it's all small money in the ring anyway, just a knock on effect from small money! O'Callaghan was fairly straight and thinks he's good. Seen plenty go wrong gamble wise from his yard over recent seasons though.
    Interesting nonetheless
