Being on DAB is not a massive bonus if it is ****e and full of adverts and they refer to the club/team as anything other than Hull City. Anyway it doesn't matter really. If anyone thinks David Burns and Peter Swann are bad ( and I am not bigging them up in any way) and you want to know what the benchmark for bad is try listening to the ****ing idiot that covers Leicester games for BBC Leicester. An absolute first class ****er of the first order.
I think it's irrelevant whether or not you think Humberside and its presenters did a good job, the decision was made because they were unhappy with criticisms of the club/owners during broadcasts, and it would seem beyond that as well - ie Burnsys twitter. So, once again, anyone critical of the Allams will be punished. Same has happened with fans, managers and groundsmen for years now. When will they get some self-esteem and recognise that it simply isn't reasonable to expect everyone in life that you ever encounter to agree with you all of the time? And then to make a (where possible) public show of punishment of those people for such a heinous crime as well. Fannies. As it is, and since I'm here, I don't think Humberside were that good. They did about the minimum you'd expect for local radio, perhaps even a bit less than that. But Viking FM will be a touch worse I think. Adverts, as mentioned. My main memories of Viking FM are non-stop adverts for Big John, Clothes Factor on Caroline Street and Celebration Centre function rooms. It is a modern day irrelevance. Unless you're an Allam of course, and someone has been mean. Sad.
I actually think they are doing what I said in a meeting in 2012 .. and opening up the media coverage now they are not tied to the stupid agreement they had ... I look forward to seeing how this pans out and hope the threat of court action to me at the time was looked at and promises kept *edit passes that I haven't paid for in the post so yes they were*
So what we're saying is no one on here ever watches sky sports, itv or channel 4. No one ever listens to Viking, absolute or talk sport. Hmmm some bullshit going on here. Burns was hardly Woodward and Bernstein in his pursuit of the Allams was he. I won't miss his bullshitting with swanneh in fact I was dreading it this season. It can't be worse whoever doing it. If the co comm is gareth Roberts then it's improved already.
Painters and decorators? They usually have a radio on while working. Probably the only people I know of that listen to Viking. They seem to edit their songs too, either to make them shorter or 'different'.
I think (I like trying new things!) Gareth Roberts will be useless as he know nothing about football. However, if they get Garreth Roberts to do it... The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
