Random fact: Powell is now the manager of Brighton's women's team.

Think the big difference in international women's football is that they are fully professional now. Hard to be semi-professional and play at a high standard. You can see the difference in their physique...much leaner and fitter now. It wasn't that long ago that women playing on smaller pitches was being discussed....much to the annoyance of women I might add. These players are now able to cover the pitch and play for the full 90 mins and still have breath for an interview. :)

The FA have consistently demonstrated stupidity and sexism since the WW2 regarding the women's game. Obviously thinking girls should be in training as wives rather than football players. The various attempts to stop children of both sexes playing alongside and against each other would be comical if not so pathetic. I remember one 'coach' from the 1990s claiming breasts got in the way and meant women would never be able to play football at anything other than a most basic level. Another complaint was that girls would 'distract' boys during a game making mixed teams impossible. Not that long ago Blatter (I know) was smirking while talking about women wearing tighter shorts to improve the game.

These attitudes are still out there, as I was reminded this year when the dress code for my daughters 6th form was emailed to me c/o females 'distracting' the boys by wearing tight skirts. FFS.

Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke faces backlash over 'sickening' blood sports TV channel

My Outdoor TV (MOTV) allows subscribers to watch thousands of hunting, shooting and fishing shows for around £7.60 a month.

In one programme a man can be seen shooting a lion, saying: “This is the most exciting hunt I have ever been on.”

In another, a presenter kills a critically endangered African elephant, saying: “There’s no other feeling in the world quite like walking up on your bull elephant.”

The channel is described by its backers as the Netflix of the hunting world.

Simon Barr, the channel’s spokesman, told The Times: “MOTV will present ethical, fair chase hunting and as long as it’s legal it will be on there.”

Supporters of hunting claim it is the only way to raise large amounts of money for conservation.

But Philippa King, chief operating officer of the League Against Cruel Sports, said billionaire Mr Kroenke had scored a “massive own goal”.

She said: “We’re living in a world now where most people can see how brutal and shameful trophy hunting is, yet the Arsenal boss is choosing to launch his sick TV channel in the UK.”

These fines are utterly pointless, it's not a punishment or deterrent when its such an inconsequential amount of money.

Apparently someone handed Jones a huge mirror. He was heard lashing out, telling the ugly c*nt to get out of his way, and he just wouldnt move...

To be fair, he only got the idea after watching his beloved Arsenal on TV when they faced Bayern away in last seasons Champions League when he couldnt get to the game. He was too busy killing ants with his AK-47 in the amazon.

He thought the Arsenal game looked like shooting fish in a barrell and came up with this new show. Honest truth, that.
