I'm not sure it's plausibility is enhanced by seemingly not knowing that he is in fact a midfielder! Sounds like he's a free agent so the price would be right!

Tom Trybull is a German footballer who last played as a midfielder for ADO Den Haag in the Dutch Eredivisie.Wikipedia
Born: 9 March 1993 (age 24), Berlin, Germany
    Height: 1.81 m
    Weight: 72 kg
    Career start: 2010
    Position: Midfielder

    Bah!

EDP have picked it up too, he appears to be a DM rather than CB. Played every week for Den Haag in the Eridivisie last season, until he lost his place to a RB being played out of position...which appears to coincide with an upturn in Den Haag's results. :emoticon-0112-wonde

From a brief look at twitter, it appears he declared around March that he wasn't going to sign a new contract with Den Haag as he wanted a fresh challenge. So that presumably contributed to him being benched for the rest of the season?

Looking at his reported history, he's got Bundesliga 1 and 2 experience, as well as Eredvisie. On a free and wages aren't likely to be extortionate, seems not to be too big a risk tbh. It's a position where we're now relatively well covered but gives us options to use two DMs if we want to be very defensive. I assume he's a Tettey back up?

It seems that DF's preference is Reid and Vrancic in CM with Tettey as cover, given the emphasis on possession football and passing out from the back. Another DM/CM would be useful though.

I guess with Tettey injury-prone thanks to his knees, and Thompson out for the foreseeable future, it gives us a bit more cover in the event that, as Rick says, Farke chooses to deploy two defensive midfielders. As you say, cheap and low risk. I admit I was expecting any additional midfielder signings to look to replace Howson rather than add additional backup, but I guess that's partly the nature of rebalancing the books.

I suspect that Howson left because he didn't really fit DF's style of play. Reid has given CM a different look, which allows Vrancic to push up the pitch, while the possession style makes a DM less necessary.

Plus Harrison Reed is comfortable in possession, which is something you could never accuse Alex Tettey of being. HR can play his way out of trouble, whereas AT always looked to Dorrans, Howson etc for an easy 'out' ball.

Anybody else concerned about yet another midfield player - Trybull and yet we only have two out and out strikers in CJ and Basil? It's a long ol' season. Are we yet again relying on midfield to get us goals?

I thought he left because he wanted to move back north and didn't sign a new contract? I heard DF wanted him to stay.

No worries at all. If Spain consider that playing internationals without a single striker is acceptable why should we worry about having two. Just a lighthearted reply City. but on the previous page several posts addressing this come to the conclusion that there is nothing to worry about.

Talking of strikers have you seen Middlesbrough's options now?

    Ashley Fletcher
    Britt Assombalonga
    Martin Braithwaite
    Jordan Rhodes
    Patrick Bamford
    Rudy Gestede

    Crazy!

    Difficult one.

Still has two years on his contract - at least he lost his number 11 shirt.

11 was the number of months he was unavailable due to injury. As the number 12 shirt is already taken it looks like poor old Matt is outta here.

Who's going to want him though? Are we able to nullify his contract because he's never fit? I doubt it.
