The most worrying aspect of this subject is that I imagine on a global scale, for a footballer to come out, Britain would probably be one of the best places to be received!
Can you8 imagine the reaction in some other countries to it? Eastern Europe, Africa, Middle East?
This is no reason to stop progress though, we need to be the front-runners and show that football here is for all, just look at the progress made with racist chants since the 80's.

 

Football fans can be very cruel not just to ethnic minorities and gays, but to anyone who strays from what is deemed normal. Remember poor Asa Hartford who was mocked mercilessly by cruel fans when it was discovered he had a hole in the heart condition.

 

I know of a case where the mother was so overbearing, that both her two sons ended up Gay, with one a ****, they both clearly rejected woman kind because of their mother? I cannot go into it any further detail, as this family I grew up with to some extent, though I can still see one of the boys Knitting in the corner of the living room.............
