I've often wondered how good the women's game is in comparison to the men's. Would the England Women beat North Ferriby Men's team for example ? Or is the level higher or lower than that ?
They did a good job on Spain, watching Spain was like watching Barca, pass, pass, and more passes, without the end product. Personally I have become tired of watching this Tiki-taka football, I find it boring to watch. Though the officiating needs to be improved.
It's improved dramatically over the past few years, there's actually some technically good players, but the standard is still nowhere near the men's.
It would make an interesting experiment to pitch a top womens' team against a men's team from lower down the pyramid and see how they're faired.
BCC will be around shortly to tell all that he's been saying that for years, in FACT he said it first. That's why Italian football is best & more enjoyable. Despite the pre-determined results from all the match fixing, that's not match fixing, it's better to watch, as he says.
1-1 HT against Portugal. Poor half by England, 10 changes big mistake, Portugal could win this they are the better side. England need to buck their ideas up.
The history of the womens game is a stain on the FA. During WW1, the women did more than their bit by taking over the roles of the men sent to mainland Europe, and delivering the goods. At the same time, they built up some cracking football teams, players and support. Once the war finished, they were shuffled back to their 'rightful place' and the FA threatened any association team that allowed women to play at their grounds. This stayed until the early 1970's.
Quite right. Married women should be at home keeping the meal they have made warm until their menfolk decide they have spent enough time celebrating/drowning their sorrows in the pub after the game and it is time to return home. Single women should be allowed in grounds to dispense beers and pies.
Any stain remaining is because some woman didn't scrub hard enough to remove it. Note: my posts on this thread are not entirely serious.
