Don't be difficult now. That image I would be banned from posting. I could try but it wouldn't stay up for more than a few moments.

Anyway I can't look at rude stuff because the very lovely Mrs Godders has set our computer so that such things cannot be accessed. She says it was to protect the grandchildren but the way she looked at me when she said it I think it was done to spoil my fun.

On the grammatical point, isn't straw a bit like sheep in that the singular is the same as the plural? I understand "getting the short straw" but other than stuck in your soft drink, can you get straws?
Maybe this isn't a real problem and I am simply raising it as an issue to easily demolish my own argument and then claim some credit for the supposed victory. If only there was an expression for that!

Plural of straw would be straws, as in "drawing straws"...when you use it as a noun of course. As an adjective, it wouldn't have a terminal S, as in straw hat, straw bale, straw man.
Is that OT enough?
