Since recent posts have talked about doping and the consumption of banned substances, in some cases this could have been innocently done as in situations where people eat hormone infested meat and other products that might contain the banned substance. This year's tour was good as always, but my favourite part of a stage is where there is a big sprint at the end, particularly along the Champs Elysees. With Cav, Sagan, Kittel all out of the race, it was nowhere near as good for sprinters. Cav's 30 stage wins is a phenomenal record as well.

A few weeks ago it was announced that two South African rugby teams were to play in next season's Pro-14. What has it got to do with SFC? My point is that Hampshire has a largish population, over a 1 million. Within that population there are considerable numbers of rugby fans who do not have a chance to support a top rugby team. And how we could do with a top rugby team on the South Coast? What if SFC were to allow the ground to be used by one of these Pro-14 teams? It would attract fans to the ground on a weekend day when SFC are not at home, thus increasing usage and finances. I hear some of you saying, that it would damage the pitch. Well, Reading's pitch is not in too bad a condition after regular use by London Irish. As Saints have top class ground staff, the pitch will be well maintained. It could also increase the fan base among a younger population who would fall in love with going to the stadium for the first time to see rugby, but such is the magic of going to St Mary's those youngsters could well become football (SFC) fans as well. I know it is unlikely to happen but it would be wonderful for the club to open its doors to a top rugby team. It might also lead to SFC being perceived as more than just a "football" club and become similar in genre to the multi-sports clubs here in Spain. Thoughts anyone?

I would hope Saints would refuse any rugby to be played at St Mary's. The groundsmen have enough to do as it is. Besides, I don't think it woild draw enough interest to make it viable.
I thought the ground was going to host matches in the 2015 Rugby World Cup but alas never got round to it. It would be worth trying out a one off match just to see the level of interest. After all, Hampshire has a larger population than many places that do have top rugby teams, and indeed both a top football and rugby team (Swansea City, and is it the Scarlets?)
It is 36C here and blisteringly hot!! Too hot to be out with the dogs at the moment so will wait until the sun is lower in the sky at around 7ish this evening. And I do feel like driving to the beach now. It will soon be August and sometimes a change of month heralds a change in the weather pattern. You guys deserve some warm sunshine so I shall blow some your way!!
In dry heat I'll take anything upto about 33-34°C with total comfort. Add humidity, just like in a sauna and that reduces dramatically. Even 25-26°C is a bit too hot. The latter is pretty much all we have in the UK, unless we go through a particularly dry spring and summer, and that isn't happening. Raining right now and the 17°C we have at the moment is pretty damn boring. I keep looking at Pezenas, in Southern France, where I'm going in early September for a couple of weeks. It's 29°C at this moment. That's just a civilised temperature. Should be mid-20's by September. Hope they've got their forest fires under control.
Just watching Leclerc in the F2. He was in 9th at a safety car re-start and overtook three cars in one corner. Awesome.
