Not sure why people think the Allams would sell, regardless of league if they can see they can make a profit out of being owners. I only think they'll sell if someone offers silly money, or if we sink further down the leagues, thus making them less money. Only problem with that is that someone would be far less likely to buy us from league 2 and we'd likely end up back where we were before the Allams bought us.

No matter, they managed to get the team promoted back to the top flight and secure all the potential riches that entails. Cue £100m of debt (although £30m of that was the purchase of the club in the first place) A bit of yo-yo and a victory against the world's biggest club and more untold riches are within reach. Another disillusioned manager leaves, a team resembling a patchwork quilt is assembled on a shoestring. A Hail Mary is thrown in January but comes up short. So we come to today. The club is back where it was when it was bought, with a squad strength similar to that inherited by Nigel Pearson. The club debt is now much higher but there is also £100m of parachute payments. The money will just about cover your debts. 2. What do you do? a) see that, with such a small squad, this is the perfect time to rebuild the squad. New management can build a team/squad in their own style. You trust them with the money to reinvest well and get you promoted (against 23 other teams, more than 2 of which are spending more than sensibly - **** or bust). b) try and play the percentages. Reinvest some money sensibly to give yourselves a chance at promotion without risking the long term solvency of the club. With a or b, if you achieve promotion do you sell the club or rinse and repeat? c) sell everything not nailed down. Cut expenses to the bone and extract every last penny. With c), do you sell for peanuts or rinse and repeat?

We can get the 2nd left back on loan before the window shuts but there's no reason why we shouldnt be buying a left back after letting 2 leave.
