What does ITK really stand for? Does it mean that you are repeating a rumour that someone you know overheard In The Kebab-shop? Something Intimated To Kevin?
The fact is that even those working for the club, the kitmen, cleaners. fitness trainers and admin staff are just as prone to idle speculation as the rest of us. Even if the source seems legit, how many people are actually privy to the details? I take it all with a pinch of salt. Have we decided to keep him? Great! Doesn't mean than an offer won't come in tomorrow which changes our minds? No. Fingers crossed, he has a great season and then we sell him for an insane fee to a European side.

 

Even when a deal is close, it can fall through, so it matters little.
The only thing that will sort this transfer window is September.

I guess its hard to compare with selling him and improving the squad as I don't know who we'd get, but I can see how that could be good, but only the board know who they might buy and for how much. The way this summer's looking we'd get Joey Barton and Stuart Downing for £30m

Might be pretty obvious, Beef but some claim to be ITK when they are as clueless as anyone else. What they might have a gift for is weighing up rumours and finding what is plausible and what isn't. Then making it look good when they write it down. That takes a bit of skill, but it isn't being ITK.

He is staying - seems pretty obvious so don't know why people start worrying when the sun etc write a load of crap to sell papers.
He will go next summer for 70m odd and we will move on.

ITK can be many things. It can range from hearing something third/fourth or even fifth hand or speaking to the person involved direct. It's good to have these snippets but unless it's direct from the horses mouth it can change or even be altered when passed from person to person. What we really need is for Les to sign up.

Well, I would agree, if only the coverage was factual and not speculative!
