I just want him gone tbf. I don't care where it is to. The guy has been talking to team mates for months about leaving (as has Bertrand). I can see why Puel had it so hard with players like those two. Then you have Virgil not wanting to play etc. There comes a time were you have to think of the team, instead of just one player.

 

Monk also said in May that VVD was going to United, and that Gabbiadini deal was off back in January. Wouldn't believe everything that he says, especially as his contact has left the club.

 

To be fair to Monk he has said that it may not be true and it's just what he's heard.

If he is going imminently then I bloody hope the board have got a replacement already lined up and none of this "already got a replacement in Jack Stephens lined up" bollocks. This is nothing against Jack or Maya or Jan but I think every Saints fan would completely lose faith if none of the Van Dijk fee was spent on a CB.

 

Be careful. Once upon a time a man had a puncture in his car miles from anywhere. When he opened the boot to get the jack to change the wheel he noticed it wasn't there. Completely agree. Should have added "once and for all" to my post. Virgil will make it 6 players to Liverpool in the last 3 summers. I said it before the tapping up saga started and I'll say it again now. That is an absolute joke. I know football is a business but surely the board know that they are really really pissing off the fan base by selling their best players to the same club every time. It's got to the point now where our own fans don't mind as much if he goes to City or Chelsea. Just anywhere but the same team. Yes Liverpool are a step up from us, it just irks me that players always want to go there to win trophies when they've only won a single trophy in the last ten years.
