You lads can quibble all you like over figures, but it's all speculation. The fact is, Spurs already have an expensive side, one of the most expensive in the World. Surely, no one is going to disagree with that?
^^^^^ Pretty much this, as it stands. Chelsea will be up there challenging, especially if Morata does the biz. City and Utd and Arsenal, still pretty enigmatic. Could finish anywhere in the top 6. Have to agree on Pool's defense. And if Coutinho goes....the we'll score more than you attitude will mean they'll come unstuck in places. For Spurs, as SD says, if we can shake off the Wembley effect, we could do reasonably well. We have a strong, settled and established squad who all know each other's game. Lack of squad depth and experience amongst the youngsters will cause us problems, though.
So @Hoddle Is A God we're still waiting for you to tell us which 'pro pundits' have said Alli is worth £200m. You've got until 10pm before I claim the WFU points.
Like, I suspect, the majority of football supporters in this country, I couldn't actually give a **** who buys - sorry, wins - the PL. The title race has been interesting over the last two seasons solely because of the exploits of Leicester and Spurs. As neither is likely to be competitive this season and it's most unlikely anyone else is going to gatecrash the party, it's all about who gets 4th after the two Manc sides and Chelsea divvy up the top three between them. As things stand currently though, if City don't go very close indeed, then Pep must go down in history as the biggest managerial failure in PL history. Similarly, if the red mancs aren't thereabouts next May, Mourinho should take up modelling raincoats as a career. So who wins? - who ****ing cares? Who gets 4th? It's usually Arsenal, of course. Perhaps Spurs can get in front of them, on the last day of the season. Perhaps Liverpool can hang on to Coutinho, but there again their defence is still **** and the bespectacled Euro pillock that is Klopp doesn't seem to have a plan B for when they end up not getting Van Dijk. So **** em. In fact, **** everyone. Saints will be lucky to get 10th, and that's all I really care about.
