Not really, you and he were both trying to prove a point no one was arguing. And he was clutching at straws, and his only arguments were that Chelsea bid for Lukaku so that means everyone at Chelsea wanted him there and that One article said Boletti was Conte's target so that means Conte wanted Lukaku........?? Not even sure why you weighed in and started talking ****e. I know you are proud of your club for the feat of selling Lukaku, but again, thats not what we were debating.
No one said it was two years ago Stan, RM enquired this year also which was the enquiry I was referring to as you are well aware. Funny and Stan are not natural bedfellows which is why RM ****ed you off on your £75 million pound Morata bid and sold him to us for £58 million. Ps. Your arse in in the post.
Whats "all good"? I wanted us to sign Lukaku. Chelsea wanted to sign Lukaku I dont think Conte did. If Conte didnt want to sign him, and the club still made a bid, thats bad..... we nearly lost our manager over it. A manager who has just taken us to the league title. Again, you seem to think I am trying to paint this in a way to make Chelsea look good. I would much rather Conte, Emenalo and Roman were on the same page and Lukaku just preferred United.
We bid £60m and never got the deal done, why would we bid £75m when the price quoted for the deal was 80m Euros (£72m)? Your deal looks like £60m up front with add-ons that'll probably make up that £12m, which let's be honest now, is the best RM were going to get after we shut the door. If Conte wanted him so bad to begin with, why were Chelsea just sitting back and watching United go into negotiations with Conte's top target?
Conte said: "You know very well the dynamic of the market: it seemed that Morata would finish at Manchester United and Lukaku at Chelsea. Instead it happened the other way around."
Exactly, doesnt make sense does it? There was a disagreement about signing him, obviously. Its not like Chelsea panicked and made a bid as soon as United announced their interest either. They still waited until the United deal was all but done before making a bid, and then they refused to match the agents fees.
Morata was your plan B, he was also United's plan B because they were led to believe that CFC had it sealed. We acted decisively and ruthlessly when there was a hint that Lukaku's deal was not done. It really is as simple as that imo.
I dont think we had a plan A or B. It was a big clusterfuck I think there was disagreement over who was Plan A and who was Plan B, hence why nothing was getting done.
Nope! You really are on some losing streak here Stan. I admitted to a mistake because I wanted to put United but put Jose instead but without thinking (normal for Stan) you went on about the Dutch Pappa Smurf?? Either way I was right as that's why you were ****ed over on the Morata deal and to prove the point they let us have him £12 million cheaper.
"It is not important to say if Lukaku or Morata were [my first choice]," Conte told multiple English newspapers. "Both players were first choice for a great club like United or Chelsea. "For me Lukaku and Morata are at the same level, first choice for a great club like Chelsea and United. "You know very well the dynamic of the transfer market. It seemed that Morata would finish at Manchester United and Lukaku at Chelsea. Instead it happened the other way around".
