I think the top three is United, City & Chelsea, no idea what order they will finish in. I think United or Chelsea will ultimately win the league, although Chelsea have europe to contend with this year and United also have the champions league, which is an upgrade on plodding through the EL like we did last year. If anything, City will have had another year experience in the CL and might turn out to be better suited to that as I still think Pep will be found wanting in the premier league. Fourth? The three contenders are Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool. Spurs have comfortably the best squad of the three. Their only weakness, and it is a very big weakness, is that they have one decent striker, and that's it. No Kane and they have no one good enough to step up and this could/will cause them problems. I don't see them 'losing' Walker as an issue at all and their defence and midfield are sound. Maybe Wembley will be an issue? If it wasn't for that I'd say Spurs 3rd or fourth but I'll go for them scraping into 4th spot despite the Wembley hassle. Liverpool are better than Arsenal so them 5th and the Arse competing with Everton for 6th.
A job, yeah. Is it enough to compete for the league? Doubt it. Is he anywhere near as good as Kane? No.
City Chelsea United Arsenal Spurs Liverpool ... if Liverpool lose Coutinho - which seems more and more likely, then I think they have the weakest squad of the top 6. Spurs lack of investment when the others are spending big (and looking like they will improve considerably as a result) can only cost them, IMHO.
You're trying to reason with a muppet, SD. Pixie loves Wenger, and in his eyes the dinosaur can do no wrong. I bet Pixie genuinely believes that Wenger still has it in him to win the title one last time, despite all the clear evidence to the contrary. Pixie is beyond hope. Do what I do, and simply resign yourself to taking the piss out of him at every opportunity. You'll feel much better about things. Trust me.
Spending big money does not guarantee you the title. Keeping the same squad of highly talented players together for a third successive season, off the back of a 3rd and 2nd spot-placing in the table doesn't guarantee you the title, but I'd take that every time over the former. Think about it. Anyone want to buy this Spurs side is going to have to spend the following:- Alli: £200 million Kane: £200 million Eriksen: £70 million Dier: £70 millioin Lloris: £40 million Alderwiereld: £50 million Vertonghen: £40 million Rose: £50 million Wanyama: £40 million Dembele: £30 million Trippier: £50million That's £640 million. We already have a first team of expensive players. We don't need to spend stupid money getting in any more. Other teams have to spend the ridiculous sums in order to catch up to us. It really is that simple, folks.
Kane and Alli are not worth more than Neymar, give your head a rattle. Dier isn't worth 70m Trippier isn't worth 50m Other than that you're probably not too far off in this market. But if Van Djik is worth 60m then surely Alderweireld is too? Oh, and learn to count. Chelsea are already ahead of you though?
What a bell-end you really are! Do you remember how, two seasons ago, Kane was out for about one-third of the season? Do you remember how, last season, Kane was out for about one-third of the season? Do you know how many goals the likes of Son, Alli, Eriksen and the rest of our squad scored in Kane's absence? Your scratch 'n' sniff knowledge of footy is barely adequate to paper over your incompetency regarding Spurs. Please, stop. And how the hell can you so glibly claim that United is going to finish in the top 3 - let alone challenge for the title - when you have played so ****e for so long? The extent of your arrogance really does beggar belief! You are going to do well to finish above Arsenal, this coming season. And that is me being generous.
It isn't about what you think players are "worth." It's about how much it will cost to get them. I haven't even mentioned Lamela or Son. Yes, that was a typo. The figure is actually £840 million - even more in our favour. Do you see my point? Even if we haggle over some of my price-tags, the point is that Spurs clearly has one of the most expensive squads in the World. As you and your kind seem to be impressed with teams that spend a lot of money, why do you not give Spurs more credit for being a main title contender?
Why do you keep changing your name and avatar? Is it to try to hide and run away from the fact that you were given a lengthy ban for being a twat? You still haven't told us, if you learned anything constructive about yourself whilst in the Cooler, Stan. Did you? If so, what?
Yeah a lot less than he did. Your win ratio dropped 8.6% when he was absent last season, and your goals per game dropped from 2.2 to 1.6 It seems you have a 'scratch and sniff' knowledge of your own club Nige. Happy to help
No it isn't. Not even slightly. If we were to say "If you want a Leicester City starting player they're going for 50m each"... that doesn't instantly mean we've got a starting 11 worth 550m, does it? Point being every player has a price that the buying club want to pay, the selling club want to receive and a rough "market price". You can inflate the amount you think your players are worth all you like if it makes you feel better. But the clubs around you are strengthening and you're standing still.
