On the other hand, if he really wants to go, he could always top up Everton's offer out of his own pocket.

    £40 mill + £5 mill add ons + £5 mill from Sigurdsson.

Why does this tell you we should hang on to him? Montero isn't the answer for us.

I think he is now , because of Laudrup's interest .

His performances prove that other than being very fast, there's no end product.

Dyer and Routs are far more reliable than him.

A goal or an assist every 2nd start ( not including sub )his first season .... then his confidence dropped when we were flailing with Monk and got little chance after

I'm still sore about Laudrup's exit , but I try to refrain from showing it . I get in enough trouble around here . Interesting article in the Guardian about Siggy under " why Everton should think twice ... worth the read .

Get rid of gylfi NOW Or he will go in the last minute (because he will go) and leave us with no time to bring players in.....We are favorites to go down something that we have not been since our first season....Nobody thinks we are good enough and our recruitment's have not impressed. Our pre season has been poor with lower league club or equivalent proving just how good we are......Whipping boys here we come.....

You know i will say it as it is and dont tolerate sentimental claptrap and fantasy wishful thinking......If we have been poor then have the guts to say so and dont worry what fantasy world anyone else is in.....At the end of the day i usually end up right as fans come to my way of thinking.....It happens all the time..<laugh>

Right now I truly don't care if he stays or goes. I'm fed up with it all to be honest breezy.

Whatever finally happens, we must not get carried away with selling one of ours for £50m. We have to keep our feet firmly planted on terra firma so we can take stock and remember what we actually are right now and cut our cloth accordingly.

At this stage in our evolution we're a lower half of the league team and no more. We've done incredibly well to get to here and even better to stay. Our main objective hasn't changed at all, it's as its always been since our arrival in the prem and that is not to get relegated.

With that in mind, if we do sell Siggy for £50m we don't want to go off half cocked like a kid in a brothel and spend all of it on a replacement. Firstly, we wont get one, no player actually worth £50m will want to come here to a bottom half team in the premier league. Secondly, no matter how much we think Siggy is worth to us he is not a £50m player, ergo we don't have to replace him with one.

I'd be so happy if we spent £20m-£25max on his replacement, this would leave us with good money to spend on a RB and still have a fair wedge left over to help buy a #2 striker to fit inbetween Llorente and Abraham. To get all three we'd prob end up spending a bit more than £50m but if we did then it would show that not only do our new owners have balls in getting £50m in the first place but they have the progression of the club at heart and they are in line with the aspirations of us selfish fans. By doing that they show they want the club to continue to grow into a top ten club. That's probably a bit far fetched to even expect half of that to happen but it would be so good for the club even if some of it if it did.

He had his best performances under Monk, and then went into hiding as soon as summer ended.

Spurs apparently inserted a 10% sell on clause when they sold Gylfi. That explains holding out for £50m.

I know he is 33-34 now - but we wouldn't go far wrong with bringing Sagna in at right back - class act and could teach Naughton and others a trick or two. Available on a free - so wages should be a less of a problem!!!

Blimey Dai, your bending over early this year <laugh>

If we sell Siggy last minute, which will probably be the case, I agree it would be inconvenient but I'd rather be inconvenienced than shafted.

We're not favourites for the drop either

    Huddersfield 4/6 Favourites
followed by Burnley 5/4, Brighton 6/5, Watford 6/4, Swans 9/4

Every season we've been in the prem we've been tipped to go down so nothing has changed. Just like every other season I'll be betting on our survival Dai, I'll stake your house on it <ok>
