Hector is a good surprise.

 

I fully expect we'll sign players after the transfer deadline.

 

Not over Hector. Over Dawson perhaps but I do like the idea of some sort of consistency to start the season.

 

I'm not sure Daws will be a starter this year. One thing is certain, he will deffo get injured this year

 

Oh absolutely, but I'd at least like to start the season with Daws in the team for some consistency. Going in with Hector - Mazuch is a bit risky.

 

Bully for you. Wednesday, Villa, Boro, Derby, Reading all have better starting 11s than us at this moment in time.

 

Do Derby? Reading? Wednesday? Villa and Boro the only two I'd say absolutely have better 11s.

Agree about consistency, ideally I'd like to see a back line of signed-up players as opposed to loans.

 

In that case Lenihan - Dawson - Mazuch - Henry (if he comes) might suit?

 

It's all very even, but I don't think we're far away. I still reckon we'll add another 7 by the end of the window too.

 

Brentford and Fulham look pretty capable too

 

At least some of these proposed incomings have had a pre season with another club.
Previously we have signed peripheral players who have not had a pre season ,sometimes because they are injured,granted they haven't had our pre season but st least they may have fitness on their side.
FC looks like he has had no pre season and needs to shed some timber.

 

So we haven't seen a ball kicked in anger yet. We haven't seen how our new manager has us playing. We haven't seen how over half our squad will adapt to the way Slutsky wants us to play, but several on here are willing to say that these other clubs have a better starting 11 than us. Where does everyone buy their crystal balls from?

As someone said, we're lacking a bit of creativity. Who's going to supply the strikers? We're lacking that koren, markovic type player. Someone who can create something out of nothing.

Forgetting about defence for a second, I'd like to see us bring in another right and left winger to rotate with grosicki and bowen. Perhaps an attacking mid too. I'm not sure we need another striker unless 442 is the preferred formation. Abel, Campbell, Dio, Keane and Luer is enough

 

Koren and Markovic were totally different players. Grosicki, Henricksen and evandro can all be creative.

 

I've seen City fans say that we have enough X. We could do with another forward as we only have 2 who are capable, just as we could do with another attacking midfielder
