He went on strike to get a move to us. He also didn't get as bad as VVD with us as he was told he could leave the next season and accepted it VVD didn't. VVD is basically at stage one Mane.

 

It's 99% his agent. Sky had "Dutch sources" for a while and then took it out

In my opinion it's still about the money. All that idol, hero, go down in history crap could of happened here or even better still at Real Madrid or Barcelona. He can't be very confident if he thinks he would be rotated at City because he couldn't nail down a place. Nothing about winning trophies so Liverpool would fit the bill there.

 

If not about money, put in transfer request. Easy.

 

Van Dijk also didn't keep it quiet. The whole team knew he wanted to leave for months.

I was just reading the Liverpool Transfer thread. Outrage at tapping up and even a comment about Milan only having history.

I wonder if they see the irony.

If he is looking to become an idol in the game in front of a big, passionate fan base, then why did he leave Celtic? Big club, history, big fan base etc. Nothing about money at all I'm sure of it. I'm sure he came to us not because of the wage on offer, but for fans...

The guy comes across as a ****er - all these ****ing reasons he comes up with to hide the fact that he's just being a duplicitous asshole after a big pay cheque. We survived without him, **** him, put him with the kids for a month till the window closes and sell him in January to anybody but the bin dippers

So he wants to go and be an idol. If he wanted to be a hero of a team that had only won one trophy in ten years then he could of just stayed here.

 

Not to mention he wanted out even before we gave him the captaincy yet he comes out with all this honoured bullshit. **** off Virgil. Just **** off to the reserves. You're not going to Liverpool, I'd rather sell him to Portsmouth.

 

There's bitter, and there's bitter and twisted. Suggesting that dealing with Portsmouth in preference to the red Merseysiders takes bitterness and twistedness to a whole new level. I applaud your committment to making life hell for VVD, but have some mercy

 

I have talked to a few Saints players/workers and all knew about Van Dijk wanting to go. So seems they suppressed the news from leaking.

 

Henceforth I shall be referring to him as VD.

Can't really have a go at VVD re the above post about it not being about money but wanting to be an idol etc.

The main reason being we have no evidence or anything even remotely suggesting he actually said that, other than some bloke on Saints web claiming he did.

I for one don't take everything I read online, let alone saintsweb, to be 100% factual.
