Both played 90mins v Gateshead Res, surely both in contention for Sat. Ferguson at LB, replace him with Taylor after an hour or so as Fergie will be knackered by then. Or stick with Taylor and bring Fergie on?

Start Fergie, only take him off if he needs it. Start Marveaux on the left, Jonas on the right, Barton CM with Cabaye and Tiote, Ba up top by himself. Bring on Obertan, Sammy and Best as the impact subs, only bring on Shola if we need a goal.

Taylor didnt do too bad defensively in my eyes against the Whingers but I just dont trust him, Id probably go Ferguson LB and since he is a Local lad he will bring his A-game to the Derby!!! Hes got to be better then Richardson!!

Pretty detailed game plan you have there.

Taylor was ok, but I agree - he doesn't fill me with confidence. Needs a lot of support from Jonas which reduces our attacking options.

    ----------------Krul--------------
Simpson - Taylor - Colo - New left back
    Barton - Cabaye - Tiote - Jonas
    ------------Ameobi - Ba-----------

    After the 60th minute:

    ----------------Krul-------------------
Simpson - Taylor - Colo - New left back
    Marveaux - Cabaye - Tiote - Ferguson
    --------------Obertan----------------
    ----------------Ba---------------------

Bringing on three of our fastest players in Marveaux, Ferguson and Obertan when they're fresh would rip seven shades of **** out of a tiring Sunderland.

Or, if we want to be more conservative:

    ----------------Krul-------------------
Simpson - Taylor - Colo - New left back
    -----Barton - Tiote - Cabaye------
    Marveaux ------------------Jonas
    -------------Ba/Ameobi------------

After half time, move back into a 4 man midfield, bring on Obertan and put him behind either Ba or Ameobi, whoevers playing better.

I would like to see a bit of pace to run at Brown late on, he didn't play much last season so be interesting to see how well he lasts through the course of the match.

Not sure Obertan will be as good when defences are fresh.

Tactics and team formation are irrelevant, as long as Shola starts we are guaranteed goals.
    Shola

    Shola. Shola. Shola. Shola

    Shola. Shola. Shola. Shola

    Shola's mum

    Shola

That should do the job. Drop shola's
Mum further back for more defensive steel if needed

I think everybody regardless of where they have came from is aware of the importance of this derby. Christ even our new Frenchies are aware of it.

Can't see either starting. It's the first time they've done 90 minutes since their injuries. Marveaux might come on for the last 15-20 mins at the most though. I don't even know if they'd risk Ferguson at LB after an injury. It's a big game to come back to. It'll be Raylor at LB again I think.

No I thought we were just referring to people within the team. Sorry i'd forgot to quote the person that had said Fergie would know more about what the derby meant over Raylor because he has come through the youth ranks. That's what I meant by my comment, like the players coming in and even the ones already in the squad regardless of where they're from will have been made known how important it is. At least i'd hope they would anyways.
