Coutinho plays a much deeper role for club and country now. He'd be the player to make that front 3 tick. It would be a massive loss. But **** happens I guess.
I meant as well as, we made money last season and with the TV money coming in to play as well we definitely have the money to spend.
Pogba isn't all that and he cost £89m ffs. He's proven in the PL so would piss it in La Liga. He'd get assists galore in that Barca team. Think he'll go for about €100m (£90m)
See you buy into that 1 in 4 rubbish. Watch him weekly mate, he's more often than not man of the match. He'll also win you a game from nothing. I think people are looking at this 1 in 4 rubbish due to him not being great when returning from his injury. Before that he was exceptional and now he's recovered he's been exceptional.
As a Liverpool fan I sort of agree tbh, initially anyway. He is good with moments of magic but also does go missing. Big thing is he is getting better and better and this year could see him really do the business for us - plus he's proven in this league which holds value. He's not in the same bracket as Suarez, Neymar, Messi etc with the former going for less money. I think £80 mill at face value is good money however it will harm us as he is now our talisman and we've got to spend big bucks to attempt to replace him. It's down to him. If he wants to leave then he'll go for £70-80 mill. If we can hold them to ransom then top end £90 mill plus maybe a player. If he went I would say its a year too early for him.
Agreed I don't watch him every week but still don't think he's world class, seen plenty of games that have just passed him by. Just think he's overrated by a lot of people. If you can get near a world record take it.
I think Coutinho is good enough for Barca, and that he'd find it easier playing for them. With Messi, Suarez, and possibly still Neymar in the same team, he'd get far more space than he gets in the Prem. I don't doubt his talent, and what I really like is that he's an intelligent player. He might have to accept that he wouldn't always be a regular starter with Barca. If he can take that and he fancies the gig, I'd go for it. A club like Barca doesn't come knocking for you every day! Next year they could be focused elsewhere.
I think he is world class. The fact the best team in the world (debatable) want him badly suggests he is too. Yes he's not on Messi et al. level but he's not too far behind imo. But this just shows defining 'world class' is subjective.
