Rose was signed before Harry and HK signed as a pro in 2009, so technically.... But pedantry apart, none left.
Let's be honest, when Poch took over we didn't have that many: Friedel, Walker, Naughton, Kaboul, Sandro, Livermore, Falque, Adebayor and Coulibaly were it - and Livermore and Falque were headed for the door before Poch signed anyway, while several club employess should have been physically dragging Adebayor in that direction.
Subtext Translator says.......... "Please, please, please....... won't someone other than Spurs come in for him? Levy's offering £10m, some of Kyle Walker's old trainers and some damaged seating from WHL. Please? Someone?"
If we sent Barkley something like : In the event you are sold to Spurs, then IN ADDITION to your current training regime, between now and then you must personally undertake the following <insert Pochettino fitness regime here> daily / X times per week. would that constitute "tapping up" ??
The latest Sigurdsson to Everton rumours are suggesting that we've got a 10% sell-on clause on the Icelander. With the fee set to reach £50m, that's another £5m for us not to spend if it goes through.
OK with me , that basically means we will receive 45 million .... for Ben Davies . It's not many clubs that have taken the Spurs to the " Transfer Cleaners "
We traded Davies ( who came from our youth system ) for Siggy , if we sell Siggy for 50 million and you get 5 million ... well if a =b and b = c then .... Maybe you should have hung onto him and you would have got the entire 45 million . This is right up there with Man U ditching Pogba for peanuts and buying him back for a fortune . I mean you guys were putting in crazy money offers for Siggy after you ditched him .
According to certain tabloids, we have. According to reality, we haven't. Love him to bits but he clearly wasn't good enough when we had top 6 aspirations, so not sure why he'd now be magically good enough for title aspirations. Unless he is happy keeping the bench warm for Eriksen and Alli, and Levy sure as hell ain't paying £50m for a cushion.
So you kinda were interested in paying a huge amount for him after letting him go for Davies . Serious question , How is Davies looking ? Was great on the attack for us but defensively he was gringeworthy at times
No we weren't. We really weren't. The Good Ship HMS Siggy has very much sailed. Davies has come along in leaps and bounds. Not quite Rose's level but the defensive aspect of his game has improved drastically. Although it does help when you play alongside a player like Vertonghen every week. Still liable to be skinned by the paciest players (him up against Mane had me reaching for the disposable undies), but overall probably the best 2nd choice LB in the league and we are very fortunate he has committed his future to the club.
Davies and Vorm, plus the £5m we'll get from this and the freeing up of Barkley, who we're supposedly interested in. Not bad for the £8.8m we spent on him, after his successful loan at your place. So we'll have two members of a very strong squad, plus a possible third, while you'll have cash and... that's it. Don't get me wrong, Sigurdsson's a very good player, but now you'll need to replace him. Everyone will know that you've got money in your pockets and the prices will rise accordingly. Now, how about a nice Sissoko to take his place? £30m and he's yours...
We're quite happy with Ben Davies, thank you very much!! And at today's ridiculously inflated prices he was an absolute bargain. On that note you could bid for him to return to Wales, but you might not be happy with the £30m+ price tag
Except for the part where we took Everton to the transfer cleaners, yet you have to hoik a chunk of the fee at us for the privilege.
Sorry Vorm was a free transfer .. unless you want to tell me the truth about what happened there (whistling )
