Rumours are getting stronger we are targeting this keeper from Blackburn for 500k. Ex Boro goalkeeper who has represented England at all levels apart from the first team.

@SkySports_Keith Jason Steele & Lewis Grabban will both have medicals at Sunderland today. Keeper Steele on a perm from Blackburn, Grabban loan from B'mouth.
If we fill our squad with these loans and sub 1m permanent signings I'll be incredibly excited by the fact we're clearly wheeling and dealing in a way the club hasn't in my lifetime.

Not at all. In my time as a supporter we've spent over the odds for utter dross. Stretching back to 7m on Flo and 8m on Anton. We've never filled out squad/team responsibly.
Peter Reid put that squad together on a relatively low budget. Sorensen and Quinn were about 1m each. Phillips 300k. It was at the end of his tenure he blew that big money on Flo. We've only spent big since the Irish consortium came in.
That's a decade of signings like 10m on Rodwell and so on. I'm young, that's the majority of my Sunderland supporting life!
Speaking to the lads in our Boro office - they think a lot of Steele. I know little about him, but these lads have watched him play and say that he should never have been dropped by Boro.
