Apparently the Slut expects 5 new players by start of season (10 days). That averages out at half a player per day. Half players seem to be plentiful in our squad going by many of the comments on this forum.
Probably the lowest crowd at the 'new' Craven Park too for a pay on the day game, if you don't include Hull United. At £12 for kids and no concessions WTF do they expect ?
I'm pretty sure in the past in the old second division they used to regularly get gates under 1000. Edit - the best I can find is an Independent article in which it says the average attendance during a promotion season was below 1700. So indeed there must have been much lower attendances and therefore last night's wouldn't have been the lowest. I seem to recall crowds of 8-900, but strangely I cant find any HDM articles about it...
As per normal, the gloom on here (not everyone) would be enough to make anyone thinking of joining us look elsewhere. On Saturday we beat one of the best teams in Portugal 1-0 and some people got very excited. Last night we drew against a team who came 7th in the French League and its all gloom and doom. We are assembling a team and getting fit and neither result matters much. Some people have already decided Leonid isn't the man, and the season hasn't started yet. Need to chill out a bit and give it time to see if he does bring more players in and what style of football we settle into.
If u had been 2 the game I'd of shook hands with u because that were my sentiments/opinions exactly! we got bossed all over the pitch, beer was like Knats piss, pies looked better than our KCOM CRAP & the 2 kids playing football with an empty bottle & can in the tunnel between stand & the toilets/bar I asked them if either of them had city shirt cos they could of ran on as substitutes & all would of thought we'd got 2 new exciting trialists on show RANT OVER roll on SB's Villa.
I was sad enough to buy one simply in order to see how many times "Hull City" was used. Twice was the answer, once by Mike Smith and the other by Leonid Slutsky. This perennial annoyance aside, the programme's composition also smacked of the total apathy surrounding the whole fixture. I should perhaps have opted for the "Fanatic Hull" 'zine that a bloke near me had. Unfortunately I didn't see any on sale (I was perhaps there too early as I wanted to avoid the anticipated "high walk-up" we'd been advised about!). One bit I did like was Mike Smith's comment: "most of our fanbase at Hull KR also support the city's football team". Not a statement to suit the agenda of some on here that one...
It's nothing to do with the result! It was the manner of it! Devoid of idea going forward and just long punts up field to absolutely nobody from our back 4! You also say we're 'assembling a team!!' I'd hardly call selling all your decent players and replacing with 1 permanent, 1 freebie and 1 loan signing, assembling a team! I'll give slutsky time but he's had nearly 2 months and has managed to attract 3 players when we need around 10! And please don't say we don't because 95% of the kids we are playing won't cut it! It's a long 46 game season and our pitiful squad will be battling relegation. Just compare us to every other team who wants promotion and you may see the truth! ALLAMS OUT
were more or less guaranteed 3 points. I reckon that Villa are in a worse shape than us............ they have SB ffs!
But we already have four, so has he been infected with Allamspeak and this means just one more to reach the expected 5 new players?
Agreed. I wouldn't be surprised if the 5 signings turn out to be Aina, Campbell, Mazuch, the Shrews keeper and the young Swansea lad...
Go on then enlighten me to what I said that is incorrect? Unfortunately there are millions of football fans, and the vast majority don't really have a clue what there talking about and are more then happy to bury there heads and not acknowledge a problem. It's called blind faith that everything is going to be ok and we will be back in the premier league next season!
as much as I wish we get back to the PL this season, I think its a big ask of Slut to do that at 1st try in EFL. 2 problems I can see. 1. it was a friendly so our players wont go flying into tackles, risking injury 2. our fitness levels are down, OK slut has made the team run but there is little that can substitute 90 minutes on a pitch.
