In truth, we both support crap teams! I'm very much the same as you. Have friends who are Sunderland through and through. It probably helps I'm not from the area though. That said, I'd happily (and I have done) sit and share a pint or two with most on here. To me, it's just a game.
Well reading aren't desperate to get the bloke back for a start. Hasn't done nothing for years and his just pure **** sorry.
Why? When he's played at this level he's scored 38 goals with 11 assists in 106 games. That's being involved in one goal in two games, good going if you ask me.
Last two clubs reading and Norwich. He got 12 in 36 for Norwich and 3 in 16 for reading. Iam not really into stats but I just think the bloke is a meh signing.
These are the signings we need though - buff out the squad. Never going to get many 'wow' signings at this level unless you've got shed loads of money like the likes of Villa, Boro, Wolves which we don't have. He also plays as a winger so he's never going to score hat-fulls.
If the bloke is 3rd or 4th choice then fine but we need to sign a main goalscorer. Hopefully we sign McCormack
Anichebe scored 3 goals in about 20 games but I'm betting you would class him as a successful transfer. Give the bloke a chance man.
For what it's worth I think Grabban and Vaughan will be fighting for 2nd striker and I expect Grayson to make a late move for Hugill from Preston before the window ends.
Have to agree, Hugill will be his main target, as soon as Lens etc have moved on and he'll make a few moves.
Building compertition innit, whoever is showing form and getting goals and assists will be starting. I mean, that's just my way of saying of I have no idea how we'll shape up At the moment though Maja is making himself a starter to play Derby so I think he'll take one of the births.
I'd imagine Defoe's given us a glowing reference to Grabben, hope Gradel comes the same way on the back of his Grayson connection. I'm pretty positive about a good season under Grayson . KTF.
Stats need further to support and a fair platform. 3 assists and 3 goals for Reading, but of those 16 appearances most were on the bench, so if you instead calculate the minutes instead of appearances he actually player the equivalent to a tad over 9 full games played. So in 9 games worth of minutes he's been involved in 6 goals. That's very good mate. At norwich he got 12 goals and 4 assists in 35 appearances. Minutes wise though he only played 23 full games and was directly involved with 16. Also very very good. Good addition if you ask me. Knows this level and what's more, he performs well at it.
I'm no expert on this league but the stats of the league surgest we're signing players who do well at this level.
