This. And it really pisses the clubs off as their player is unsettled and they get non stop questions over it all. It's no wonder why they tell us to get ****ed to be honest.
What if he goes on strike? What if he does a Lil' Rim? That said, I'll be 100% consistent and say what I've said about VVD and Keita - if he wants to go he should put in a transfer request.
Everton will be a position to challenge Uniturd for sixth place if they carry on at this rate. They're very ambitious.
well thats different. we go talk to their agent.... line up what they want (we think) then we go piss about hoping it leaks then we low ball bod the club to see what they say. Then the agent goes talking to other clubs to see if he can get more money himself the "acceptable" way according to people is bid to a club having scouted the player and then talk to the player once the fee is agreed... the issue is going that far reveals how much money you will spend and the player may not be interested in your club at all. IMO the right way is sound out player as EVERYONE does then bid the proper amount and stick to it if a club is greedy. IMO football has now got to the point that free transfers will be the norm and these massive massive fees for players who may never be worth it are going to be the exception. I think back to joel matip and think WOW such value. 70k a week on a free for the best defender we have.... or milner the best left full in the world on a fee and a snip at 160k per week.
It's as if, being American and all that, they've read Donald Trump's Art of the Deal. And City and Chelsea just come along with their oil money and say 'We'll pay that'.
If they keep just buying each other's most ineffective players they might find themselves being challenged by Bournemouth or Southampton
Not completely fair, Van Dijk and Keita are clubs not wanting to sell and wrongly thinking they can convince the player When it was just a matter of paying the price they quickly shelled out for Salah £34m, Mane £34m, Wijnaldum £25m, Firmino £29m
the thing about all this is 60% of leaks come from agents IMO at our level At real and barca's level 100% of leaks seem to come from the club. They basically run the papers in spain and it seems l'equipe as well. I think our issue is we are very happy to see agents and players agitate. nobody keeps their mouths shut anyway but we seem to actually be in these cases actively seeking the players to break their professional obligations to force the move as the contract situation doesn't suit. At this point with red bull the fee being rumoured by whoever is so extreme there is no low ball in it. its gone beyond a joke now. Red bull must be laughing if they got a 74mil bid after a 63 and 68 bid. then ketia does in and tried a leg breaker in training. thats not on. as for southampton? whats going on there would infuriate me if coutinho did it. Its really poor form from the player. I know he signed a very stupid contract last year and his agent was at fault and southampton knew full well what they were doing offering him the soon to be average prem wage for 6 years but still NO EXCUSE to do what he is doing. there are subtler ways. All in all... its clear we targets guys on long contracts and have not really ponied up. now we hear we won't bid unless southampton ask us to.... balls to that... and then southampton leak a cheslea are interested line... its all posturing. there is NOTHING illegal in making an offical bid. but we won't unless we are invited. its all just posturing.
salah is the only bargain there... the rest were expensive... for their time. its now that they look value in context of a bubble. If i bought a house in whenever.. 2003 and it was expensive I could have in 2008 thought it a bargain but in 2009 when the market collapsed barely have afforded its payments and could maybe be in negative equity. You have to recognise a bubble.. and this is one. Salah is value.
What happens if Chelsea put a £60m bid in and it's accepted? Are we allowed to match it and speak to the player? If not, do we rely on VVD to refuse to be sold? Dreaming, I think, that last one.
Ok then... How would people feel if Coutinho was sold and we signed both Keita and VVD? Acceptable? A nightmare? I'm mixed, not too sure what the point of anything is next season if we sell Coutinho. Quite simply we need to establish ourselves as a CL club again, losing Coutinho would be a massive blow. BUT signing VVD and Keita would definitely soften the blow....
I think Mane was value. He went in the window that Pogba et al came in. 34mil was relatively cheap then for that caliber of player imo.
