Apparently, existing members get sent a new card in the next couple of weeks. I recently realised that I had thrown my card away at the end of last season (that's what I've always done). Contacted the club about a replacement, they have informed me there's no need. I know this was raised on here a few weeks ago.
As if the membership scheme wasn't **** enough, replacing the cards every year totally negates the key benefit of it.
Good news I can put my other one in the 'season pass display case' in the drawing room. Excellent idea this ongoing membership scheme because it means the Tiger Corporation Inc. don't have to spend anything on admin costs sending out new cards, or answering people's queries about new cards .............oh hang on
The current passes don't mention the season on them, so I'm pretty sure the idea was that they'd be used ongoing. I wonder if they've replaced the turnstile system, hence the need for replacements?
Maybe they want to issue new ones emblazoned with 'Hull City AFC' as a way of breaking down barriers with the fans?.......................
The cards are to be replaced with olive branches, you need to take one each to get in. The branches will be collected, noted and then burnt.
I believe you, we're on the same wavelength. I am going down to Greece next week, how many olive branches should i bring back ?
Totally agree, I thought that was the key point - not having to replace cards for existing card holders.
With all the moving around due to closures and price changes it was probably easier to produce them all again rather than selectively. Plus all those stay away who have cancelled could turn up and confuse the doormen into fast tracking them in.
Tell you what, I have asked them for clarification as you all make sense. I have re read the email I sent them and they couldn't possibly have misinterpreted it, but if they employ (English speaking )bar staff who don't know what a pint of bitter is... (I know the bar staff are a separate catering company but why let the truth get in the way of a good story?)
They've confirmed again new membership cards will be sent out in the next two weeks. Two emails both answered within 24 hrs. Is this what he meant by better communication?
My new card came today, accompanied by a letter which contained a quote saying "We look forward to welcoming you back for the coming season as we face Burton Albion on Saturday 12th September". Probably best to get someone to proofread before commissioning them to the printers...
