He certainly wasn't mate, he attributes a lot of his personal success to what he learned from Fergie. He was world class here, and truly world class as in he'd walk into a world XI, not just like when folk say Eden Hazard is world class just because he's good.

I love how winning mentality is overlooked in favour of stats on this board.

Imagine how many trophies United would have lost out on if we didn't have the characters, the Cantona's, Bruce's, Schmeichel's, Keane's, Ferguson's, Ronaldo's, Rooney's and Zlatan's. Players (and a manager) who deliver trophy after trophy after trophy due to their obsession with winning, while other players are hell bent on personal glory, totting up numbers on a scorecard, like Alan Shearer.

It's almost like it's not an attribute nowadays, ffs Luis Suarez... all the talent under the sun but ultimately a moaning little rat faced **** who never made the difference when it counted. Congratulations and a huge round of applause for your amazing numbers... have a runners up medal as a prize.

I've said it loads of times on here recently, that winning mentality runs deep through Diego Costa and Conte's tossing him aside and replacing him with a stat man.

Luv that is way too sensible especially from a Pool fan.

What has gotten in with you, making mates with the saints and now putting out sensible answers.

For the record gerrard is overrated and when shown to not be the guy everyone had to pass to so that he could shoot/dribble/lose possession with a hollywood pass, he was shown to be bang average.

Was watching that the other day, he did have a few special goals but over a couple of seasons, not as many as Suarez though.

Get ****ed Bobby he was a god!

He really wasn't. I will go as far as saying he was a very good player and improve most teams. World class though definitely not

I'm not going over this ground again. Take a look at his record in big games, when it really matters and take into account the players around him. He won trophies for us by himself.

Lampard was probably the better footballer but Gerrard was undoubtedly the one you'd prefer in your side.

Shame we couldn't fit both into the England side properly. Unreal side we had with those two, Scholes, Becham, Owen, Ferdinand, Terry, Cole, Rooney, Neville etc.

Can't believe we had those players and we gave them to Sven.

Not really. I've never thought Lampard was World Class either. Could strike a ball brilliantly and spray some nice passes but never had the vision, skill to beat a man or the ability to dominate a midfield.

Oh good the Lampard v Gerrard thing again.

Lampard was the better player in my opinion, he was a classy and intelligent player that knew he had to play with his head and not his heart.

Gerrard really didn't figure out how to separate head from heart.

Bobby getting philosophical to show us that he's not wumming when he says Suarez was 'oraite', i'e 'a very good player' lol

    a very good player <rofl>

Drogba was very good mate, Suarez is world class hence the best team or one of , in the world wanting him.

i like how United and Chelsea fans shift goal posts every week to suit their latest angle on the beautiful game

Suarez struck the ball from the half way line whilst filing his teeth
    great passer of the ball
industrious and would dominate the whole game thanks to his skill

    That man was/is World class

All Chelsea and Utd fans side with Lampard but most neutrals choose Gerrard. I'm not a genius but I can see a trend in that!

Messi was the best player in the world, Suarez made him even better. Along with all his skill and goals Suarez understands the game. One of the most intelligent footballers I've ever seen, in the body of a savage.

lol Fack off. I never said Suarez wasn't world class. He was.

Gerrard was never world class though :p.

When have i ever shifted the goalposts

**** off did he. No vision, like frank 1 vision and that was hollywood pass or shoot on goal if closer than 40 yards out.

Also Gerrard didn't dominate the midfield :p.
