No he's from Kidderminster. Hull is officially the City of Culture. It was a **** hole when I frequented it visiting a bit.
Gillingham's got to be up there with the best of the **** holes. Nothing more than a holding pen for the Jeremy Kyle show.
The irony being Kidderminster is about as ****e a hole as there is ever likely to be yet a United 'fan' who's never been anywhere near Manchester is calling it a **** hole. Probably because none whites live there. Unlike ****ing Kidderminster, obvs.
Haven't been back home to blighty in a few decades but I always remember Leeds being a particularly dull dump. Brum always seemed rather awful too, although I only ever saw it passing through on the motorway. Manchester always seemed pretty awful, but from what I understand its improved from what it was in the 80's. Used to hate Runcorn.
Margate is worse, it has a beautiful beach but everything on the front is either closed or run down. All owned by the same guy apparently, so he's probably waiting for government to invest. Worst place I've been is probably Sunderland, that was in the same sort of state as Margate except cold and no beach.
Coventry, Corby, Stoke, Middlesbrough. I spent 4 years in Stoke at University in the late 80's or the 1950's as it was there.
Hanley (one of the 5 towns that make up Stoke) a grim depressing place populated by knuckle dragging neanderthals which i had the misfortune to have to go to for work purposes on & off for a couple of years.
