    I don't know if this is possible.

    Why doesn't Van Dijk pay his contract off then Liverpool give him the money back as a signing on fee? + his wages.

    He would be getting the money back though + it would be cheaper than paying Southampton £70,000,000.

    I ****ing hate all this ****e. At the very least you'd expect VD to put in a transfer request. He's had 6 months recoup paid for by us. Do the "right" thing ****er & then **** off.

    Least we didn't tap up a lil Stoke school boy and promise to pay for his private school. Then get found out for tapping up so started forging documents, so back out of paying for the private school fees. Now his parents are 39k in debt and are suing...

    Why is he wasting his time with a club like Liverpool which at best may win a cup (unless they meet us in a previous round). They are never going to win the league. If he wants to go then he should get his agent to contact a big club that will win trophies in either England or abroad.

    You're seriously deluding yourself if you believe Saints don't use the same tactics when acquiring senior or junior players.

    If LFC hadn't raided your club previously nothing would have been said, but the owners got the hump this time.

    If I had heard Saints had done what I just said I would have called them out as disgusting. Why try and defend or pass the buck with that ****? Getting parents of a youngster in debt is disgusting.

    Come off it Page, yeah the Virgil stuff every club does but I highly doubt every club forges documents in relation to youth players leaving the parents in debt.

    I seem to have missed all the fun, sorry all.

    Some observations:

    If you don't want Skylarker here,please try not to let him get to you the way he has. As I said the other day, he's not breaking the rules by being here, but the joke is that the quote he posted had already appeared a few pages before. It would have been funnier if someone had just politely pointed that out to him at the time, rather than get uptight about it.

    On the main topic, in an ideal world it would be wonderful if Saints drew a line in the sand and didn't let Virgil go this window. Imagine if he just happened to be here on September 2nd (or the day after whenever the window actually shuts). What could he then do? If he won't play, he's in breach of his contract and needn't be paid. If he does play, and don't forget he hasn't played since January, he has to train and play bloody well to attract a buyer in January. So either way it's win-win for Saints, especially if we could actually sign his replacement in this window who Virgil has to compete for a place with.

    Please, Les, do it for the fans, the club, and your own everlasting glory.
