If VvD wants to come to you for anything other than money he will put in a transfer request. If he only wants the bigger wage he will realise that the first 2-3 years of his pay rise will be lost in his loyalty bonus so will probably not put in the request as he will get a similar move next year anyway. (you could always make the difference up with a big signing on fee though)
Obviously, I don't want us to sell Coutinho but I don't think it would be as big a loss as some seem to think. He's not on the sane level as Torres, Suarez, Alonso or Mascherano were when they left.
It's open for debate about how good he is. I actually think he is all that; however my point is this. 75 80 million is a big amount of money but despite different opinions on his quality he wouldn't Be easily replaced and is one of the players that might attract other players to play at Liverpool.
Precisely. But, sparring apart, you'll see from this thread I've persistently said VVD should put his money where his agent's mouth is and put that request in. Tad different for Keita though in that he does seem genuinely loyal to Lepzig.
I think coutinho is going to shock a lot of doibters this season. If klopp does what i think he is going to do with him...... well..... Anyway... keita bid will.have to be a lot better than what i just read
I dont know. All i know is one signed a really bad deal and is throwing a strop. Keita is too distant to.be sure whats going on there For all we know bayern have tapped him up already and the thought.of cl wjere he is means he is fine to hang on
Torres was crocked when we sold him, and allegedly he knew it. Alonso wanted because the sainted Benitez tried to replace him with Barry, and Masch had his heart set on Barca. Of all of those though, it was Suarez that ****ed us up more than any other, but given his antics the season before with the Arsenal bid, it's astonishing that our only plan to replace him was Sanchez and, er that's it. But we did get Balotelli - thanks FSG. I feel this is part of the scenario with Leipzig though - who have they got to replace him with? Okay, they have to let him go for £48m next summer, but by next summer they have time to plan a replacement.
I think Grujic will be the emerging player this season, especially if Can moves on giving Grujic a chance.
RBL have just come 2nd in the BL at the first attempt, Keita is a young player with plenty of time to step up when ready. Maybe he just wants to see if RBL can go one better or are just another surprise like Leicester before he makes a move.
And so do his team, more importantly. I know how I felt when we came second and lost the Prem's best player a few months after.
He is a Utd fan who spends all his time on our board. He is this boards equivalent of irritable bowel syndrome, but we tolerate him. We consider it care in the community.
Independent are reporting we're "preparing" a final £75m bid for Keita, £40m of that being paid upfront.
No offence thats one example. Then you can give examples of teams holding onto players successfully and then having stormers. Suarez, modric, bale, de gea,
Keita and Van Dijk will be 30 mins into their Liverpool debuts and some people will still be posting they don't think we'll sign them
Still not too sire on Van Dijk, don't think he is worth the reported fee. As for Keira, that's dead im the water
