I think Adam Le Fondre would be just fine; I've been saying so on these boards for some time now. ALF also fits NP's youth but experienced theme, as he is only 24. He has scored at League 1 and League 2 level, but League 1 and League 2 aren't that different so it isn't much of a measure? Can he score goals at our level? Rickie Lambert seems to be adjusting ok. Would be a snip, offer 750k plus Emerton on loan for the season to help fill the hole.

He could go for a foreign player, somebody we never heard of from a random Albanian league. Or from Scotland. Kyle Lafferty, David Healy, Kevin Kyle.....nah, only joking ;)

Pretty sure he's at Forest. Somewhere in the Championship at least.

was watching Soccer AM yesterday (I recorded it), Marcus Hannemann is without club, surely he'd do a better job than Gulasci and Basso

If we made a bid for Le Fondre that got accepted you'd then get a bunch of other clubs following suit, and he'd choose one of them instead. It's what happens to us

I wonder how much it'd take to snatch Billy Sharp from Donny? he'd be perfect, a deadly goal scorer who runs the chanels and drags defenders out of position is exactly what we need to start opening teams up.

Yes. At least City wont have to face him in sept. Doncaster have 11 players out injured altready.

We need to keep quiet about our targets.

We need to keep our targets' agents quiet too, which is more difficult.

Exactly. Fraizer Campbell, Marc Antoine Fortune, Neil Danns and Daniel Ayala are just a few of the players who used City to get better deals elsewhere.
I reckon we should have a time limit on our transfer offers, say four days and then the offer is withdrawn. That would make it difficult for greedy agents and players who couldn't be sure they would get a better offer from others.

Ayala's agent got him a 4 year contract with Norwich on PL wages. No way would City have offered that long a deal.

Agents are a problem the game should have removed. Far too much money is being lost as these leaches keep on the gravy train.

    Err, no.

Le Fondre is a decent player, but it's a question of whether he can cut it in the Championship. Personally I think he'll have no bother coping when he inevitably makes the move into this league, I'd be more than happy to have him here
