To be fair, regardless of the money, I'd be very happy if I was a West Ham fan getting those two. Both Prem-experienced so won't need long to get going, and they've needed a reliable striker ever since they got promoted. At 29, Hernandez should be at his peak.
Apparently Kolarov wants to leave City, which would leave them with just Kyle Walker as full back at the moment. Perhaps their need for Bertrand may increase.
They played Fernandinho at left back last night, he got roasted by Rashford several times, including Rashfords goal, they def need a left back or two
Zouma signs for Stoke on loan ------------- @SkyKaveh Sky in Italy: Roma agree £5.8m deal to sign Aleksandar Kolarov from Manchester City --------- Juventus sign Bernardeschi from Fiorentina for €40m
That's why it's such a weird and stupid precedent for Man City to make. £50m for a bang average RB....oooooookay then...our LB is better, sooooo....
I dont know about better - I think they had pros and cons - id say they were fairly similar. I imagine the outside view of many neutrals is that Walker has the edge though...
Game of opinions I guess. Walker can run really fast, but Bertrand is a better defender, a better crosser and can also play in a back 3. I think if you make Walker £50m then Bertrand is at least £50m too.
Isnt that what i was saying, I think they are similar, but my belief was that the average man in the street may not agree? If he does go to City, I would imagine it will be £10-15m below a Walker...
Indeed I wasn't disagreeing, but I personally think Bertrand is a better player. I think Walkers game is very average, and that is often hidden by the fact that he's very quick. I don't think we'll get close to £50m for Bertrand either (whever he eventually does go) despite thinking he's the better player.
I think Walker gets a pretty harsh deal, he has improved a lot in the last couple of years and was probably the best RB in the league last year. Only weakness for me now is his decision making going forward. £50m is still mental for a full back though, much like £75m is crazy for a centre back but thems the times we live in
