Touching on from what NSIS said.

Our youth policy should hopefully keep us ticking over for a while during the crunch period of the new stadium.

The likes of Winks, Onomah, Walker-Peters, Carter-Vickers and Edwards should all be cemented in the first team picture some way or another come the new ground (a couple already are), while the likes of Sterling, Roles, Tanganga, Oakley-Boothe, Shashoa and any other surprises could also be helping to fill gaps. Realistically I know we can't just throw an academy player into the mix should we be forced into selling a key player and expect the same results but there's a shed load of talent right now who can definitely make some form of an impact. Best our academy has ever looked.

Wages are beginning to become an issue, I don't think any Spurs fan can deny that but I'd like to think the club aren't oblivious to this and in due course, the likes of Kane, Alli, Dier and co will be getting the type of deals that other top stars are on, while potential targets' demands can be met without too much fuss. Although as NSIS has said, there's many rumours that the bonus schemes Levy throws into deals (appearance fees/ goals/ assists - basically like Football Manager! <laugh>) are some of the best around.

Yep, we are really **** in the transfer market which is why our squad has the biggest difference between its current value and the price we paid.

Interesting table. Shame that when I've used transfermarkt before it's been dismissed out of hand by some Spurs fans. But even then there's very little difference between yourselves and Chelsea and not much between those clubs and Arsenal. I'd also question how much they are valuing Kane at, Take that one player out and your 'value' might not look so good.

Anyway, this is besides the point which was the £85m you got for Bale which was basically spunked up the wall on players like Soldado, Lamela, Paulinho, Chiriches, Chadli and Capoue.

They think Kane is worth £51m. I think most of their numbers are about half what they ought to be. I'm not sure why they think that three squads we absolutely shat on last year are worth more than ours, but even then we still have the most added value.
We about broke even on the seven signings after Bale. That is hardly a disaster

It wasn't our finest moment but I wouldn't include Chadli or Lamela in that list.

Chadli was a good signing. We ended up selling him for double what we paid and many of us didn't want him to go, he had a knack of scoring at times we desperately needed a goal.

Although the first couple seasons were a struggle, Lamela began to start paying back his £26m fee in 15/16 and was a big contender for our POTS that year. I was gutted he missed 90% of last season, we could've really done with him, one of the hardest working players you'll see. If he can come back with the form of 15/16 (or better), we'll have some real force in those attacking midfield roles.

    That's a desperate strategy you're employing there.

For all of Spurs' so called good value, the biggest issue is that they have won **** all with it.

They might have done some decent business in selling players on and unearthing some bargain players, but for what ?

Until they actually win something, all they have is their net spend trophy.

    Indeed.
For all their years of taking the piss out of Arsenal for "just finishing in the top 4" and winning "the top 4 trophy", they seem hella pleased at replicating that minor feat.

To be fair. It's the biggest thing that's happened at Spurs for 26 years.

Actually that would be the "We challenged for the title for a bit" trophy.

We're in an unusual position for us. We struggled for years under various managers and it's only the last 2-3 that we've shown any consistency.

We don't have the balance sheet or the sugar daddy that Arsenal or Chelsea have. We can't just go and spend £80-100 mill and think nothing much of it. So we have to do things differently.

We're making good progress under Pochettino. A good, young, settled side that's been improving every year.

There's a new state of the art stadium coming which will take us to the next level. But in the interim, we've got to pay for it too. So I think most fans accept that we won't be spending any fortunes this summer.

The move to Wembley will require a period of adjustment. But after that I expect us to be up there punching above our weight again. As we've done the last 2 yrs.

I'd imagine the stadium will only go to the next level for the fans and Danny boys wallet it won't affect the teams performance for sure.

Erm.... we don't have a 'sugar daddy' either. The money that's been invested in our squad has been earned by our club.

I think you'll find thats the spud boards strategy mate. Too tight to buy a star so pick up relegation basement boys and give them a kiss and hope for another player you can sell three years later for £85+ million.

    Indeed.
    Quite the opposite infact.
You have a "sour" daddy, where by most of the money earnt by the club is spent on farms, jaguars and yachts for your board of directors.

Yawn, I have been through this a million times with numerous Arsenal fans.
Not sure if you were one of them, so I will give you the benefit of the doubt.
But there are a million ways to extract money from a business without it being transparent as a dividend.

Fine, prove it then. Our accounts are all publicly available for anybody to read. Unless you're claiming that Arsenal are somehow slipping Kronke $725m to buy his ranch on the quiet. <doh>
