This, TFM is potentially the long term DM that we could rely on, he's on our own door step and will cost us nothing. Jury is still out for me on Tuanzebe as a midfielder. On a separate note, it's interesting to see Veratti has aligned himself with new agent and Woodward's best friend Mino Raiola, I'd be more than happy for us to break the bank for that lad.
Even when we where supposedly on the verge of signing Morata, I think you'll find I was one of the few United fans on here who weren't in support of signing him for the amount of money Real where asking.
Indeed. I was at the Palace game last game of the season and he had a stormer there but it wasn't really that competitive a game so difficult to base it on that. TFM though has all the potential to be brilliant. In a variety of positions but I see him doing well at DCM, definitely. Acronyms flying about all over the place!!
Tuanzebe had a decent game vs Arsenal at full back, but doesn't look comfortable imo in midfield. I'm not convinced he'll make it with us yet. Fosu-Mensah is the real deal, he was immense for us in that FA Cup semi vs Everton and it was never a penalty, Van Gaal hooked him for Valencia after that when he should have stood by him and shown faith in him. He's got pace and strength and a dose of flair too, I'd love to see him in the match day squad more often next season.
Jose keeps mentioning impossible teams to deal with, he's definitely talking about the Dier deal with Spurs. He is saying he'll have to settle for 3 out of his 4 targets now, I wonder if he means he'll give up on the DM or the RW position.
I don't really think we are in that much need of a DM. We've got Carrick and Fellaini, and Pogba and Herrera can play that role too. We keep hearing good things about young Fosu Mensa too, so if we sign another DM what chance has he got of getting a game?
My gut feeling is that he'll give up on the Matic/Dier transfers as we can probably manage without them, although I don't agree that Pogba can play there. Perisic I'm not excited about, mainly because of how much I want Martial to succeed.
Isn't Zlatan still training at The AON? Can't see this one happening unless Aurier fancies having his face broken into.
That's just a typical Mourinho move though, not trusting the talented young player, and spending loads of money on an established guy who will play to tactical orders.
Not necessarily. He trusts Rashford. Competition and experience is healthy, I just hope Martial ups his game and owns that left sided forward role.
If he trusted Rashford as a striker he wouldn't have spent 90 million on Lukaku. He never trusts in young players, he even didn't trust Lukaku when he was Rashfords age.
Rashford had plenty games last season, Lukaku is replacing Zlatan, not being bought as an alternative to Rashford.
I disagree. He trusts Rashford as a back up striker and to play him as a winger in some games. But he does not trust him to play in his favoured position as a striker week in week out.
But he trusts him to play a role in the team, a very important role. Trusted him more than Rooney you could say. Trusted him more than Zlatan against Chelsea. We'll almost certainly have the youngest centre half partnership in the Premier League next season by the way.
It is mainly becasue he wants a striker that hold up the ball and brings others into play like Zlatan and Lukaku rather then a poacher like Rashford - bet you will play to his strengths in the up but in the League, just sub in Lukaku for Zlaten.
For a 'mere' £16m I am surprised that we didn't go back for Chicarito. He would have given us another goal scoring option on the bench for not a lot of money these days
