Ehab supported him right up to the point where he couldn't sort out a contract both parties were happy with. Ah well. Glad to hear his first preference was to stay here but as many have said, security ends up being a bit too attractive to pledge your loyalty somewhere blindly. All the best.
He said he expected additions early next week. I think we expected Pennington but Leeds pipped us late on. To be honest, the club keeps a real tight lip on things, we didn't find out about Frazier till it was almost done and it appears to be the same with Stewart
Going to miss the Jak. I think he proved himself this season and earnt his move. By far and away our best keeper. He was number one in the PL last season for penalty saves - Leicester have a bargain and a terrific character in the dressing room.
Totally Random and without going through 353 pages of drivel not sure if his name has ever been mentioned......During our conversations with Leicester I would loved us to try to include Tom Lawrence in the deals. Smashed it at Ipswich last year and would be a top addition to our squad.
It took him 5 years to become a number one, he finally makes it and then he moves to become a number 2 again, for someone that's barely played in 5 years you think he'd rather have some first team action than be sat on the bench somewhere else. Obviously the money was right, his bank account might be on the up but his career is going backwards.
It seems very odd that we're now looking at Shrewsbury's third choice keeper, along with a keeper released by the worst team in the league last season.
Did you read his message? He's clearly not just going there to twiddle his thumbs. Add the fact he couldn't agree a new deal with the club suggests the security and challenge was right for him. Sad but that's life.
Obviously he's not going to say he's going there to sit on the bench, he's just talking the same bollocks every back up keeper says when the sign for a club with an established number 1. I'm not saying he should have signed for us, by all means move on, especially if a new deal couldn't be sorted. He should have just gone somewhere he'll actually get to play, being a back up at 32 is just a waste.
Yeah impressive, and exciting too, but we'd be a bit top heavy on pacey strikers while short of a target man.
