Odd, that's not the Marriott. It's the station. I can smell the urine through the screen.

Driving today and listened to Allardyce on Talkshite; he was very surprised Liverpool have let him go as he thought he was a hot prospect. It is a tad puzzling, but if there are no hidden barbs then it is a cracking move.

We could probably afford his wages, parachute payments along with whatever was not spent from the promotion. Depends whether things are being run for the benefit of the shareholders or not. I am not advocating overspending, but if you get promoted then it's money well spent, if you don't then they may have to look elsewhere. I think with parachute payments, its worth trying to bounce back.

It's a one year commitment to salary so pretty low risk versus a permanent transfer for 3 years + and salary. If he'd give us season and we'd pay - he'd be a great addition.

Nope, never seen him play. Considering our tumultuous summer I just think we'd benefit from experience, continuity and nous in centre mid.

****'em. Thanks and farewell. We all move on. I think Jak will regret this move, or he's all about dosh - we have cover. Tom is a good guy, but all we'll miss is pundits talking about his superb passing skills.

depends. If De Gea goes to Real Madrid, then Schmeichel could be off to Old Trafford and then Jak is first choice in a PL team again. It's a punt worth taking.

Exactly; he's a good lad, but far from a £30M keeper. He really needed another development year with Sunderland.

I think that happened when they publicised the picture of him signing and holding their shirt?

Aye, the obvious is always, what ...

    ... oh aye, obvious ...

... but so often very strangely disregarded.

Anyone seen any updates on the keeper or centre half we've got on trial over in Portugal?

McLaughlin was on the bench against Bristol Rovers but didn't play. The other bloke is training. Both will probably feature at some point against Benfica on Saturday.
