20 years we have now been at the SOL. Pick our best team going off votes on here. I'll stick each position up, one day at a time. Each poll will be open for 24 hours. Only Sunderland votes count any outsider votes will be stripped out. When it is all done, I'll put up the team put together with the most votes. We start today with goalkeepers
Tommy Sorensen - had Pickford been with us longer I reckon he'd have gone with him. P.s. Looking forward to the results.
Nice one good idea. Difficult choice this one, first instinct was Pickford but he was only with us five minutes and as good as he was he wasn't the finished article.
For me, Craig Gordon could've been the best. He was a big sod and a great shot stopper but his injury buggered up any chance of that! Sorensen wasn't half a good'un though so gone with him!
I see you went with Gordon, Nacho. If Gordon had hung about a couple of more seasons playing regularly, he would have been my selection. A truly world class keeper. Like you say Hurley, Sorensen was a very decent keeper.
Gordon's the best keeper I've seen at Sunderland, as much as I did like Sorensen. I'm sure I'd be saying Pickford was if he'd stayed with us but he left too early in his development to have surpassed Gordon.
Sorensen for me. Pickford (potentially) and Gordon are possibly better keepers but Sorensen benefits from playing for the most successful team in my lifetime. So Ive picked him.
Agree with the Pickford consideration, but will also go with Sorenson. Good poll 83, look forward to the result, should be interesting.(and give us something to dream about!)
Same as the wingers There's a lot of Quinn lovers so an outside chance of a shock there. Unless Altidore pips them at the post
You are going to have to do a 3-4-3 formation so we can skip full backs and get Defoe, Quinn and Philips in mate
I would probably pick Quinn ahead of Defoe to partner Phillips, tactically, if I wanted to win football matches. On paper though I would pick Defoe ahead of Quinn.
Tommy. Was here for a sustained spell in the first team. Pickford was only partially developed and only played a season of first team football.
Tommy for me, a long stint between the posts and the Derby save against Miss Poppins nails it for me.
