    Fcuk Me.....Everton are now keen on Bony :emoticon-0130-devil Is this their way of stopping us getting Bony ? I may not be keen on him but thats because he has not had regular football for 3 years and that is my only reason. If we do manage to get him then so be it and we have to see still has the magic or not.....What we must not do is put him on a long contract until we see what he can do for us.....Anyway he may turn his nose up on us now Everton and others are interested....

    I said as much:

    The moral of the story is this — while Everton have allowed the Gylfi Sigurdsson saga to carry on, the club missed its opportunity to ideally prepare itself for a brutal opening month of the season across multiple competitions.

    Regardless of whether you think Gylfi is worth the money or not, there’s no doubt that because the Toffees have been forced to put things on hold while waiting for Swansea to come around, they are in a tough position going into the start of competitive play.

    The early signings of Klaassen, Pickford, Keane, and Sandro were exactly what the club needed in order to prepare for a bevy of early fixtures. The delay associated with the signing of Sigurdsson — or any eventual alternative to the Icelander (Las Palmas’ Jonathan Viera comes to mind) — threatens to undo all that hard work just days before Everton’s season begins.

    Back to us now, regardless of what I'd like I just have a feeling Bony wont be coming back.
    Personally I think it would be great business to get him because we are so far ahead financially when dealing with him, £13m to be exact. I don't think a £17m extravagance is on the owners bucket list.

    Nothing more than bed wetting by some impatient FIFA generation beaut that, we seem to have loads of them <doh> There's still nearly a month until the start of the season ffs.

    I think we've made it clear we're not going to pay the asking for Sigurdsson, so both clubs either agree a compromise or we should move on though.

    But we don't need to compromise do we, we have set a price if Everton match it then it is over to you, if you don't then as you say move on.

    That'd depend what's been said behind the scenes and how pissed off or otherwise the player is currently or would be if he felt he'd been priced out of a move that he wanted.

    That's something only your manager / owners can take a view on.

    Questions ;

    How would Sigurdsson have known that Everton "wanted" him ?
    Did Everton believe that Sigurdsson was just yearning to join them prior to them showing interest ?
    Did he instigate it all ?
    When, and in what manner did Sigurdsson discover Everton's interest in signing him, allegedly with a £125,000.00 wage carrot dangling in front of him ?

    It seems to me, rightly or wrongly, that Everton tapped him up, and were quite open and blatant about it.
    The result being that Swansea City now have a disgruntled player on their books, and as such, an unhappy environment for the rest of the players.
    Pre season preparations have been profoundly affected.

    Everton should be hauled over the coals for this. Fined a hefty sum,and warned as to their future conduct.
    In addition, they should have a transfer embargo placed on them for ,say, six months.

    Just my opinion, and others are available.

    I've thought this from the beginning. They should start the season minus 15 points. That would really hurt them.;

    Do you think that clubs approach other clubs about a player without first having spoken to their representatives to see whether they'd be interested in the move?

    Come off it mate, it's how the entire industry works and has done for long enough.

    It happens to every club in the food chain, including mine. Lescott, Stones and most recently Lukaku - who even had the temerity to say openly that he'd agreed to join another club about 2 months ago. Stones handed in a transfer request after having been tapped up by Chelsea, Lescott threatened to go on strike to force his move to City.

    You'll find that most players have a clause in their contracts which forces their club to inform them of any bids as well, so the pretence stops at the point of the first offer. The rules are flouted every day of the week by every club in the league, only those who do something crass and get photographed with a player etc are the ones hauled over the coals, but the entire 'tapping up' thing is a massive charade.

    Am I wrong here, but Everton have gone on about how much they would pay and how long a contract they would give Siggy long before any official bid was placed by Everton.

    What happens at other Club's interests me not one jot.
    If Club's have been enticing players then they should be challenged, and an investigation undertaken.
    The whole process is unseemly, and can be prevented by the authorities playing some hard ball. Hefty fines, points deduction, Agents banned, etc.
    I wish I had the power to deal with it.
    There would be tears flowing for a while.
    The River Mersey would burst it's banks. <laugh>
