Just to give you an injury update, Timm who has a muscle injury will be out for 5 weeks, which means he'll be out up to August 22nd (from today) - (missing the games against Fulham, Swindon (Carabo Cup), Sunderland, QPR & Villa. Alex who will be out for at least 6 weeks (from Today's date) will be back after August 29 and miss all the games Timm misses plus Millwall. There then follows a break until September 9th when we play Birmingham Out of those teams, only Fulham & possibly Villa give me any cause to be concerned
F sake!!! I literally said to my girlfriend under an hour ago: "It's a bit strange, He'd move from first team regular to potentially a squad player. He's also going to be in Newcastle, while his twin is in Norwich...That wouldn't be easy either" Seeing that story has struck dread into my chest! This is why Jacob would 100% move, and if he did move, it's so much more likely Josh would push for big spending Boro, who I think, could easily win this league next season.
I'd rather keep him and now he's seen what his brother has achieved, it could spur him n to greater things.
If he moves for 4m then we're back to ****ty old Norwich, given his brother's 12m+ free we should be looking for 9m+ surely?
He signed a new contract and if it were our valuation, then a £9m player he is. (As long as someone then paid it!) We would be crazy to let him go for £4m. A season in the championship playing 30+ games and that will more than double with his talent. Last season Jacob played more 1st team footy and made the U21's but there is not too much between the pair so I would be very surprised if we took less than £8m, though I hope we keep him or at least get £10m +. Even then I'd like to see him spend at least one more season. With the Jacob money we can't need to sell, so it will come down to his percieved value to Farke and the way he wants to play. Josh or Jacob were no wingbacks, so if we are to play 3 at the back, the question would be is Josh what Farke wants in the front 3? £4m is nothing more than an openning gambit, though I do worry as others have said that this could be from Josh and his family wanting to move closer to Jacob and encouraging his agent to find a good move to that local. Bah!
I like your confidence. However, we will be starting the league with a Defence that has mostly only played in there second division in Germany and probably Rusty. Our new team and probably formation is untested against any decent opposition in a competitive fixture. I will reserve my judgement until we have played a few games, experience of support NCFC tells me that no matter how good you think you are it can all go horribly wrong very quickly.
Well, Dave Mbokani was hardly a massive success with us, and an utter failure the next season. so there is little to aspire to.
We have a very tough start against four experienced teams of which I would expect three (Fulham, Sunderland, Villains) to be pushing for the top six. It is going to be a baptism of fire for the newbies so let's hope that they are ready for it.
The top end of the pitch has goals but our weakness was defending and needlessly giving away the ball . If we can install an efficient well drilled back 4 and Gunny 2 is as good as I hope he can be then it could work. Alternatively we have a bunch of German second division players that can't cope with one of the toughest leagues . I'm staying positive but the coach and most of the signings are untested at this level so flippantly saying 4 of the first 5 games should be winnable is a bit daft at this stage.
