As it stands I don't think their is a glaring hole in the team/squad if everyone remains fit and on the payroll.
For me I think we can afford to be patient in the window. I'd like to see additions of course, squad always needs a freshen up, but if we have to wait for Celtic's champions league qualifier to get Armstrong then so be it.

Their owners basically bathe in oil. £200m is pocket change to them.

 

Living and working in the construction sector in the UAE and seeing what is spent on development projects in the GCC; club ownership is a vanity pastime. I sit in meetings with clients who make considered decisions there and that make the whole transfer spend by a EPL club this Summer a complete irrelevance. I kid you not.

 

I also think that while we all want to see us competing regularly for a top four finish and fretting about the spend of other clubs; the reality is that we are at best going to be a top 10 club and to come 6-8th is about as far as we are going to achieve. EPL has a glass ceiling and with the freakish exception achieved by the Foxes; this is about our limit. We all would want more; but we do not have the deep enough foundations to be more than that.

 

Oh well, I'll give up watching football then. I can do it.

 

Isnt this a bit wonky? We played crap but it was nothing to do with the players or squad? I think we played crap and made 8th because the rest of the league played worse, nothing to do with us.

I'm really hoping to see some new midfielders and a quality CB. Hopefully Pellegrino can get the best out of the rest.
