    Phil Spencer for getwestlondon

QPR manager Ian Holloway has said that fans won't be aware that "the bomb has gone off" behind the scenes, and has urged them to support the team as the new season beckons.

The club have put a focus on integrating young talent into their senior squad, and Holloway says that it's vital these prospects are supported due to matters out of the control of the club.

He said: "Our fans have to help me with the young ones who are coming in. It’s about getting us moving the right way.

"Unfortunately what’s happened before has resulted in what i’m left with. The bomb has gone off, the fans might not know that, but it’s gone off and i’m still holding it, so at the moment we can’t do what our owners would want us to do.

Make of it what you will.

Must be financial, since this is why he's emphasising the need to make the most of the youth. FFP arbitration surely. Has it been held in secret and a huge award against us? Have we been given a points deduction for this season? Have we agreed transfer restrictions as part of a deal with the Football League?

Holloway is given to exaggeration, but use of the words a bomb going off could hardly be more dramatic, particularly since 80-something people have just been burned to death in a nearby tower block.

I fear you're all probably right - sounds like he's working within a transfer embargo of some sort, either regulated by the governing body or because we're out of dosh.

Still, I like a cause and a challenge. If Olly was Jose, he'd have the whole team motivated against this obvious unfairness. Maybe Olly can do it too!

Why the secrecy? You'd have to be pretty dumb not to realise we haven't got a pot to piss in and we are facing a relegation battle. I think everyone would appreciate knowing why and what has been agreed with/imposed on us. The EFL have a duty to all clubs to be transparent in their dealings and I'm beginning to think that there is a bigger financial problem behind the scenes with TF rather than anything to do with the FFP...

Well, whichever way you examine that statement it is not good news.
However, I will be at HQ week after week shouting my support and hoping to see some decent football as a reward for my support.
Hope that's not too much to ask for!

But this wouldn't accord with what Holloway says here:

“At the minute we can’t do what our owners would love us to do. We’re not allowed to do it at the moment."

Back after a lovely week in Portugal and greeted with this.

I'm reading into recent events and concluding like others that FFP hasn't gone our way. Our own fault, no-one elses, we spent the money stupidly and we're suffering the consequences.

I'm bracing myself for a relegation battle whilst optimistically hoping our younger players rise to the challenge. That's the reality of where we're at today.

Our owners are very wealthy so I believe that it is something beyond their control. Maybe an embargo or points deduction as well as a fine.
I would say however that the FA would realise any information first before Ollie so it maybe him putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5

Not really our fault when the rules were changed after we were committed to premier league contracts. I'm with the club on this.

Be amazed if it is a points deduction given what clubs have done since but you never know.

Perhaps a bomb has literally gone off and most of the senior players have shrapnel injuries, necessitating the use of younger players.

The club is hugely loss-making. This season we have reduced parachute payments and realistically a lower income from transfers. Middlesbrough just spent £14m on an injury-prone Championship striker. It's the world we live in.

I'm quite looking forward to it- just bought my seats in row B of the upper loft for Reading.

Whatever happens it was someone else's fault.

I would have thought that had we been handed a fine or transfer embargo it would have made the papers by now

Absolutely, you can't do deals behind closed doors. That's why I believe there has been no penalty and we're being bullsh*tted again...

Love the, "integrate the young players with the senior players."

Thought all we have is young players.
