Wishful thinking I fear, Seabass. Gibson + Cash for Barkley, any day of the week; we need talent today, right now - talent tomorrow is something established clubs get.
Call me crazy, but that is just never going to happen. Chances are Gibson has had his head turned by the phenomenal churn of young talent vs. us putting Sameobi in the first team and decided to fck off.
Told you it's going to cost you a fortune. Best bet is to build your team on hard working characters and hope the best, worked with teams like Leic and Burnley . You can see why went down last season. 10m will buy you bang average players in that league. We were shelling out 5m here and there. Didn't stand a chance. It's ok when you're established and adding to a squad, but when you let the squad diminish from poor financial management like us, or a relegation like with you's, getting that squad up to standard costs a fortune. Forget your big names and fancy technique players, you need grafters who run through walls and and play for the shirt, either that of plunder 200m but that ain't happening. Wait till the teams around you in the bottom half are banging them in despite restricting them to a couple of chances. ****ing deadly attackers even in the lesser teams. Brutal.
Yes, apparently he has been offered a professional contract by the club but hasn't signed. These rumours could just as easily be his agent trying to get a better offer from the club.
My mate has a few of his sons at Newcastle academy and he reckons it's just his agent trying to get a better deal when he turns 17 and is offered a contract with Newcastle. The lad is from Stanley and a huge Newcastle fan and wants to play for Newcastle.
4 he actually has 3 of his sons signed on to the academy first time it's ever happened having 3 brothers at the academy at the same time. Ameboi's only ever had 2 at one time.

Less than 4 weeks to go. Looking increasingly likely that the team that finished the season top of the Championship will be the same as the one that starts in the Premier League, aside from Florian Lejeune. At this stage, with holidays and pre-season issues, any inbound might struggle to make the first eleven. We're not alone; Klopp is the latest to announce his frustration at a "complicated" transfer market. Staying with Liverpool, rumour has it that as we cannot agree loan terms for Ojo (for similar reasons to the Abraham deal), we're weighing him off against Jacob Murphy to see who we can get in for cheaper. So the £10m that was refused by Norwich has been offered to Liverpool (allegedly).
To be honest we've signed two in Atsu and Lejeune I know what you mean though. That said when we spent 50m odd, only Gini signed before the 20th July (I think). Mitro, Mbemba both arrived in late July I seem to remember and Thauvin was later into August. Nature of the beast for PL bottom feeders. Which is what we are unless you have some delusional vision of the club and/or think Rafa is revered throughout the game as some kind of stellar manager with ridiculous pulling power (he isn't).
Ah the annual NUFC July panic, you had a break from it last year... order is restored. Toon folk are digging out their Mike Ashley voodoo dolls and swearing never to shop in Sports Direct again.
I think they now stock Mike Ashley voodoo dolls at Sports Direct. Say what you like about him, he never misses out on a market
Haven't really heard much blame thrown at MA for once, and contrary to popular belief my voodoo doll's been out for the last 10 years ****ing annoying tho, doesn't seem to hurt him, just makes him fatter.
I see Rafa is playing the game masterfully today with his comments in the chronicle “Hopefully, Mike can keep his word and we can do what we want to do.” Boom take that Fat Mike. He will be well pissed of with that comment. But if Rafa walks people will know why and he can't sack him as any hope of him selling the club for what he wants is out the window. It will be interesting to see what happens this week.
I think he's playing it very poorly. Pardew was almost fired for a far less barbed comment. I'd be astonished if Rafa makes it to August after that one. Sky Sports have, predictably, thrown it up as a headline. Justin Barnes will have let the fat one know.
Thankfully Benitez isn't pards and had a similar moan in January. I don't think he's playing it poorly because if Mike isn't putting up any cash he's realistically trying to encourage Benitez out the door anyway, if he sacks him he will have to pay the kind of money on his contract that he refuses to pay for a transfer fee
