FLT I was basing it one aspect, not the midfield attributes as a whole. Why do you have to be sarcastic when even you have to acknowledge that our midfield does not pitch in with a ton of goals, and generally our long range shooting is woeful. Tadic can't even score from the penalty spot half the time

Unfortunately Newnow articles are all we have as it doesn't appear that the club are doing anything in terms of transfers atm. I'm sure the articles have been right once or twice before.

I think that there will be no new signings, unless the new gaffer really wants someone he knows. I can see the board thinking the squad is settled, and we have a lot of youth players trying to push on

 

I'd be astounded if we made no more signings as there's quite obvious holes in the squad to address, even without the fact we'll still probably lose at least 1.

How about saying where one got the source from.? For example, read from NewsNow or Sky or BBC or something. Then one could treat it with the credibility it might deserve.

Take with a massive pinch of salt but noises in Scotland saying Armstrong could be a Saints player quite soon.

 

To be honest TLL l don't think we brought in enough last season so l will not be that surprised if we made no more transfer deals, but l agree with other posters that we need another DM at the very least and had another attacking midfielder would be good to have; as cover to Tadic and Boufal; neither of whom play at a level of consistency for my liking.

 

Indeed. I could actually see another Bertrand in him - given the chance to play on a regular basis for a smaller club, Gibbs could really flourish too.

As I've said already today, Robertson would be my ideal replacement for Bertrand (if Ryan leaves). But I wouldn't be disappointed to see us sign Gibbs.

 

I agree about last season but am hopeful we learnt from that. For me we need both a cm and dm at minimum, plus replacing any who leave.

Maybe even another cb if MoPe plans on playing 3 at the back at all.

I'd like another gk too, but nowhere near a priority and don't see it happening anyway.
