Give it rest for one day. We've brought in a youth player from Chelsea and lost 6 players. Even Meyler and Grosicki are taking the piss.
I thought we'd have lost more than that by now. Apart from Maguire and Jak, I don't think anybody is too disappointed by the players that have left. Most people thought Thudd was coasting (although I still think he was quality), Maloney is 18 months from retirement age and, shock horror, the loan players didn't stick around. I'll tell you what. I'll stop the conversation, we can resume it on August 31st. If I'm wrong, so be it. But I'm not going to spend between now and then getting down about anything until I've seen who is coming in and we've played some competitive football.
I hope you are right and players will come in and we will be challenging at the right end of the table. I'm more than happy to eat the biggest piece of humble pie you can find.
Thing is sterling they apparently have been working on targets since before the season ended. Ehab said he wanted all his business done early, slutsky wanted 90% done before pre season, they set the targets not us. They've failed to meet their own targets so that must have contributed to the "knicker wetting". Had 2-3 decent signings arrived then the departures wouldn't have caused as much unrest
Surely the problem is that even if 3 came in, that still leaves us massively short! We probably need 7 or 8 and that's based on not losing anyone else, which of course we are going to.
I'm going by past experience they dont sign many and what they do sign are poor this season they will have lost more than usual
This. I mentioned in an earlier post that Slutsky really endears himself to me. I would like to meet him to say 'hey, whatever Ehab does is not representative of the people of our fine City'. And 'sorry that you appear to be being treated like ****'
**** me, I went out for my ride smarting about the fact that they had **** up Tom H deal and he had gone, to find out another one is on his way The Jak. I'm scared to go out again, as there might be no one left in Portugal soon.
Full marks to Meyler for this. Excellent for team spirit, and no doubt some will now see him as one of the leaders. Having spoken out against the regime however, I expect Kim Jong - Un, I mean Ehab will have him shipped out quicker than you can say 'my knee's better, I'm ready to play again'
I just hope Slutski is on board with all this going on, and he has a master plan of building a new team. I am not that confident that this dick head will bring in the quality of players needed.
Lets be positive for a minute, enough of the doom and gloom. If we sell Robbo, the likelihood is there won't be many more silly penalties given away. So we actually won't need Jak to save them. Win, win in my eyes.
