managers can only do so much if owners are deciding the transfer policy it is difficult unless they are sensible
Well... this isnt enjoyable in the slightest. Unless we do the improbable and bring in some decent players its going to be a long, boring season of mediocrity. .
For those who continue to suggest not to do a Corporal Jones, and that I should change my soggy pantaloons, what do they make of insiders Meyler and Grosicki openly taking the piss at the increasing number of exits from the club? That's not us keyboard warriors / internet managers, that's employees (for the time being) of the club. The ones affected directly by all this. An assumption on my part, but based on this time last season, is that the morale of those left will be heading south rapidly. Another assumption of mine is that each time one leaves, those experienced ones remaining must think, 'that's even more pressure on me to perform and carry the loanees / young kids / those that are left', and are left thinking '**** it, I'll try and get away'. Would be interesting to have thoughts from any of the 'Don't Panic' brigade, the Allam apologists, the 'we're not relegated yet' types.
That's why I say this coming week is absolutely critical. If there's not a few quality signings made, it will be the end. The remaining senior players will have their agents get them out, even the likes of Dawson, and Slut will walk.
Personally I think it's inappropriate. "The we're not relegated yet types". ****ing hell. It's July. You couldn't make this **** up.
No quality signings will be made. I expect Clucas & Grosicki will follow the rest. If the manager has anything about him he will walk.
many players are in the last year of their contracts surely any sensible club would have offered them a new contract by now if they were trying to keep them
This week is critical or this is the week it will start to happen, or the old faithful tomorrow have been quoted virtually constantly for some weeks now, interesting and entertaining as it is, methinks it is now somewhat tiresome.
"We are close to two or three players" He's expecting them tomorrow or Tuesday. I missed the part where he said they'd be ****e.
Any sensible Club would start contract negotiations when the player enters the last 2 years of his contract.
Presumably something held them up. If our dipshit interviewer would ask him what the hold up has been, he'd probably get a better answer than "it's difficult".
