McCormack upfront on his own is the last thing we want, if Grayson insists we play 4-2-3-1 then I hope its Keogh and not McCormack upfront... McCormack upfront on his own is such a massive waste of his talent, the guy is constantly running away from the ball trying to get in behind the defence when really with a 4-2-3-1 we want someone whose willing to play with his back to goal and be the focal point of our attacks.

At least if we play 4-2-3-1 McCormack should play the Howson role... give the guy the ball to his feet and let him do what he sees best, him and Nunez are easily the most technically gifted footballers at the club

McCormack can only play with a partner. Cardiff fans have always said that and we have seen that with our own eyes.

When he does play with a partnet, however, he can be flippin awesome, again admitted by Cardiff fans and we are starting to see flashes of it now.

He has some real quality about him, would hate to see that wasted.

So no keeper on the bench?

I'd go with your team except Rachubka ahead of injured Bromby on bench and maybe O'Dea ahead of Connolly, Lees at RB.

That was pretty stupid of me. Rachubka instead of O'Dea then, since Bromby's more versatile.

O'Dea's just as versatile as Bromby anyway, but covers more bases as Lees can play at RB aswell, so if Connolly needs to come off then O'Dea can come on and Lees move to the right, and if White needs to leave then O'Dea can replace him in a straight swap. I'd be more inclined to stick with last night's team anyway, they've earned their places and it's Howson and Gradel's job to earn them back.

    vs. West Ham

    Lonegren
    Lees-Kissa-O'Dea-White
    Clayton-Howson
    Gradel-McCormack-Snodgrass
    Keogh
    Rach-Bromby-Brown-Sam-Nunez

Think we'll get ripped to shreds if we don't flood the midfield against West Ham.

I agree with that Simon. Btw whenever I've said in the past White should play LB you've come back with "but White's not a LB!!"
Haven't seen you say that today-you feeling alright bud:wink:?

I've been genuinely pleased and surprised at how well he seemed to do at LB yesterday, it's early days still but let's hope he keeps it up <ok>.

They're not all that,we could just as easily rip them to shreds down the flanks, their fullbacks are poor. Play to our strengths & exploit their weaknesses. We're paying them too much respect. They've already lost at home to Cardiff.

It was partly to do with his confidence. It was clear until the last couple of games after he scored his goal against Bradford his head wasn't in the game. Now he's got confidence, shown by how he celebrated rather casually last night, kissing his ring and pointing to the sky.

I think we should stick with the same players, bar Brown, but change the system.

McCormack has actually played a lot of games as a left winger for Cardiff. He doesn't deserve to be dropped, after 4 goals in his last 6 games (The 2 games he didn't score in, he was playing as a lone striker). Push him to the left side of the attack, where Gradel normally plays. He has clever movement, a decent cross and would give us the option to play 4-4-2 if necessary.

Push Nunez into the centre behind Keogh, and bring Howson in for Brown and keep him deep alongside Clayton. I never get this - Howson can't play in a 4-4-2 idea. He energetic, gets stuck in and obviously we know he has attacking qualities. Grayson should just say to him - don't be so attacking. Hold back. If you look at Scott Parker - he's small but is mobile and gets stuck in. People have this idea we need some big hussling defensive midfield, we have Clayton and Howson - 2 mobile, battling players who also have the quality going forward. They just need to have some discipline and hold back a bit.

Snodgrass on the right obviously. Bring Gradel on second half, running at tired defenders he could easily grab another. Also, with him not being an automatic starter, he'd be hungrier to make an impression and try even harder than he usually does. Remember how effective he was as a super sub in League One?

    ------------------------Lonergran--------------------------
    Connolly-----------Lees-----------Kisnorbo---------White
    --------------------Howson--------Clayton------------
    Snodgrass----------------Nunez---------------McCormack
    -------------------------Keogh------------------

I've joined you Cockney, had enough of the West Ham only 606...too much chit chat from the same old people unrelated to the subject and very poor way of managing threads...!!

Think Sunday should be a very good game, expect Leeds to give their all. Tight call I think...
