Your interpretation, that's all. Perhaps the squad is actually quite good anyway. This squad with a lot of injuries and by lots of people's opinion, playing bad football, manager to finish 8th. One could interpret that as the squad being good and a different coach might get them looking even better. That's not necessarily my view, but it is a possibility.

I think we just see what we do over the next 6 weeks and then we can assess how we think he has done. Then we need to play a mod of football matches to see if he got the right coach.

 

I have no idea why our midfield would be considered exceptional, Romeu aside. We need 2 dedicated CDMs so we can push forward without exposing our defence. If VVD goes and we don't get a standout repl, as well as replacing fonte, then we could face trouble with just Romeu.

 

This is why we must go out for a CDM as our main priority signing this summer.

 

Perhaps Les doesn't think it's a good idea to tell the world our midfield needs improving.

 

I'm not at all religious, but thought that the slew of injuries that could lead Taylor to play was too unlikely...

 

We could probably do with a bit of divine assistance though, eh? Religious or not, we are the Saints.

If you base it on goals scored by midfielders and particularly from outside the box, then i would suggest that average is rather generous

What about the midfield that finished 6th two seasons ago? On your criteria, average is generous for them too.

If they're average, we'll be alright anyway.

Woke up last night. Couldn't get back to sleep

 

I managed only a couple of hours as well....at least I don't have to work, unlike you, but it's no fun. I would regard 6 hours sleep as hibernation.

 

Fonte replacement

 

I'd be ok with this if that midfield roster also included a couple of europe's most highly regarded young central midfielders, a club record signing in his second season, a proven creative international, one of the best defensive midfielders in the premierleague on form or a young, pacy winger working hard to add goals to his game.

That's basically my first question every time I see us linked to a CB. Are they better than Fonte? If yes, then I'm open to signing them.

 

Being conscience free I slept soundly all night.

 

Its nice to know someone has a clear conscience. With me though its because I have had to pay out a lot to get a water leak repaired directly above my study. So at the moment my dining room is acting as my study until the proper study is fully decorated. I don't like having to pay out for things I feel should not happen!!!!!
