That's not what was said a few weeks ago. May not have been from Slutsky but in Ehabs propaganda video for sure.
Bruce overpaid for most of the players he brought in. He wasted years of finances which were spent in advance and we are still crippled from it. The players he signed are leaving for their true values.
You could be right, last time we went down and needed to beat Burnley at home I dont think we had a shot. This time we needed to beat Sunderland and lost, fell apart at palace. Whenever the pressure was on or we were favourites it fell apart, I think bruce illuded to it in an interview about a mental weakness.
He overpaid for Maguire and Livermore? 5m at the time for Huddlestone was great business, in my opinion.
Mirror reckon Liverpool want this villa Lb http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...anchester-arsenal-10802032?service=responsive
"Bruce overpaid for most the players he brought in'" Since when did most mean all? And for the record, yes he overpaid for Livermore, I recall the whole forum was in agreement at the time. We overpaid by approx 150% for Tom.
He definatley didn't over pay for thudd imo, he just failed to get the best out of him He overpaid for Jake
Put it this way I bet we couldn't buy someone of Huddlestones ability and age for £2M, so why let him go?
Livermore is one of the only players I can think we overpaid for. Even Hernandez has repaid his fee with his performance in the Championship.
We bought Sam Clucas for a lot less than that. Who I'd say has had more impact, more goals more assists and a massive resale value.
Don't let your own dislike for the Bruce scew the facts. We sell the vast majority of players for way lower than market value. You only have to look at the other business been done by other clubs to realise this.
That's only true for players who would be capable at prem level though... Are we bringing any of those in? Not even heard mutterings of any genuine quality linked with us yet.
Tommy pointedly thanking everyone except the owner & chairman...and referring to the club as 'HCAFC' Good lad
What he's not said says it all, doesn't it? Bottom line is we've lost an excellent player and we will not be able to replace him with the same quality, ability and experience, for the same price. And by his own admission we could have so simply kept him. The **** up continues.
